Written comments emailed to shawna.freels@cityofgilroy.org OR mailed to Gilroy City Clerk, 7351 Rosanna Street, Gilroy, CA 95020 will be distributed to the Council Members and kept in the record. 

  • A contract for design of a parking lot at Eigleberry and 7th Street
  • A contract for a Citywide sign replacement project
  • A report on operational impacts and efforts related to the COVID-19 pandemic will be presented
  • Appointment of members to the Youth Commission
  • Guidelines on the role of elected officials during emergency operations
  • A request by the Gilroy 150th Committee to install an El Camino Real bell and plaque
  • Establishment of a City Council ad hoc subcommittee to addres the City's homeless issue

The next regular Council meeting will take place on Monday, October 5, 2020 at 6:00 PM. Additionally, there will be Council Study Session on Monday, September 28, 2020 at 6:00 PM.

During the shelter in place, board, committee, and commission meetings will take place virtually and will be streamed to facebook.com/GilroyCityHallMeetings. Public comment for these meetings will be taken by email. Individual meeting agendas will provide the appropriate email to provide public comment for each meeting.

Homeless Prevention COVID-19 Rental Assistance Program

The City of Gilroy, in partnership with St. Joseph’s Family Center, is providing Community Development Block Grant CARES Act funding (CDBG-CV) towards a rental assistance program. These funds will help very-low income tenants with paying a portion of their rents to avoid eviction. This program is tailored in response to Governor Newsom’s Statewide Covid-19 Tenant and Landlord Protection Legislation in an effort to protect the most vulnerable tenants. 

Visit www.stjosephsgilroy.org to review the eligibility requirements and download the Homeless Prevention COVID-19 Rental Assistance Application and forms. The completed application, and all required documentation, can be sent through a link on the website. You can also pick up and drop off completed applications at:

Applications are due by 11:00am, Wednesday, September 30th, 2020. Applications should not be submitted until they are complete and in one combined document/packet. 

Ranch Side of Christmas Hill Park is Open
The Fire Camp located at Christmas Hill Park has been cleared and the park is once again open to the public. Please observe social distancing and where a mask where appropriate.

Gilroy Library Increases Connectivity with Extended WiFi
To help our community stay connected, the Gilroy Library now has extended free WiFi in the parking lot. The WiFi will be available from the parking lots 24/7 for patrons to access from the safety of their cars and/or outdoors where they are able to social distance.
