In this uncertain time of the COVID-19 outbreak and widespread closures, the Renton Downtown Partnership has provided a list that outlines what local downtown Renton businesses are doing to adjust, implement safety measures, and support the community.
In times like these, supporting local business is more important than ever. Local businesses support not just jobs but they contribute greatly to community organizations, schools, and local nonprofits.
"Support Renton Eats" is an informal neighborhood based effort to rally our neighbors to support locally-based restaurants (and those in the surrounding area).
With the challenges of COVID-19, our healthy friends and family are encouraged to improve their patronage to local establishments through to-go orders and delivery during this "Stay At Home"... They're everywhere. Highlands, Downtown, Fairview, Rainier Avenue, Grady Way... you name it.
These places make Renton our home!

A Seahawk Legend Giving Back to the Community

Cliff Avril and The Cliff Avril Family Foundation donated over $50,000 Friday to four different local community-based organizations providing resources to people impacted by COVID-19.
“We have never experienced a crisis of this magnitude; and it’s times like this, organizations such as ours, are expected to answer the call,” Avril said. “I am pleased to announce that The Cliff Avril Family Foundation will be donating $25,000, and I will personally be donating $25,000 to support four Seattle-based organizations that are at the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
The Super Bowl champion identified four Seattle-based organizations making a huge impact in the community and donated to their cause.
  • Communities In Schools of Renton-Tukwila: Received $10,000 to provide resources for communities disproportionately affected by the outbreak
  • HealthPoint: Received $5,000 to purchase temporal thermometers for each testing site, outdoor tables and additional personal protection equipment (PPE), to insure drive-up testing tents are ready to meet patient needs.
  • Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic: Received $15,000 to support families with food, finanes, hygiene and general needs.
Avril established the Cliff Avril Family Foundation in March 2014 to support the educational and health needs of youth locally and abroad.

"You Have Not Lived Today Until You Have Done Something For Someone Who Can Never Repay You." - John Bunyan
It is stories like these, and support from members of our community who are facing challenges themselves - in stepping up to make sure those who are the most vulnerable and in the most need - are taken care of first, that makes us so proud to be a part of this Chamber Team and Family.
Thank you to our Renton Police Department for leading by example and showing their support of our local businesses as we all rally in support toward sustainability during these times.

Send us your photos of your support of local business and we will give a shout out to you, your business and the business you are supporting!
