Dear Businesses:
FACE MASK DELIVERY for BUSINESSES:
UVBA is working with the State of NH to coordinate delivery of free face masks for businesses located in Hanover, Lebanon, Lyme, Enfield, Canaan and Plainfield. UVBA has worked with the State so that we will coordinate orders for businesses and bring the orders to Lebanon saving you the drive to Newport (where currently you would need to pick up your order).
The State has limited our supply so priority will be given to businesses currently or about to reopen next week. Supplies are limited to one mask per employee per day for a 2 week supply. If a business has already placed orders with the state, you are not allowed to reorder at this time. Please know that this is a pilot effort that the State has granted UVBA specifically with conditions - we may not be able to accomodate everyone this week but hopefully will be able to help more businesses in subsequent weeks. Please be patient. If you need supplies sooner, you may still
order from the State
and pick up at the Newport DMV.
We are waiting to hear whether a similar program will be rolled out for Vermont businesses.
REOPENING INFORMATION:
As many retailers open this week, UVBA received some questions from those who sell clothing concerning their fitting rooms and what sanitary protocols should be in place. Researching this topic did not turn up definitive guidelines. The State of NH did not include use of fitting rooms in their guidelines. Nancy Kyle of the NH Retail Association emailed me this:
"
If retailers are opening fitting rooms, they need to sanitize them after each use. The NH Department of Health and Human Services could not find consistent recommendations based on scientific fact to make a state wide recommendation for clothing and shoes. It appears that the virus is only viable on cloth or shoes for 3 hours to up to a day. So individual store owners need to make store policies that they are comfortable with. "
National brands such as Macy's and JCPenneys have stated that their fitting rooms will remain closed and returned clothing will be quarantined in storage for 3-4 days before being returned to the racks. I will continue to search for better information and if anyone has resources that you would like to share, please send to me.
Occupancy Guidelines for Reopening
:
Also, questions have come up on determining how many people may be in your store in accordance with Reopening Guidelines. Here is the equation:
Total Sq Ft of store divided by 30 then divided by 2 = no. people (employees AND customers) allowed into your business at one time.
May 18 - Restaurants
may reopen for outdoor seating only. Alcohol may be served by first obtaining permission from your city/town and applying to the
NH Liquor Commisson
for an extension of your current liquor license.
The City of Lebanon has put out
City Guidelines
for restaurant reopening in regards to use of tents and serving alcohol. Note: according to the State Fire Marshall, tents may not have any sides - they must be open on all 4 sides.
