Dear Morningstar Family,
Thanks for your patience and staying tuned as we worked on the reopening plan. We have been working very hard to get our building ready and excited for our opening Sunday, June 28 with one service at 9am until further notice. The services will continue to be livestreamed at both 9am and 11am.
While we have done everything possible to reflect the safety protocols of the provincial and municipal health guidelines for places of worship, we have limit our reopening to one service to ensure we get the reopening right. Your health and that of your family is paramount to us even as we worship together again in our building.
In order for us to stay within the guidelines of 30% of our building capacity as well as maintaining a 2 metre (6 foot) radius between each seat(s), there will only be room for up to 140 people in our auditorium. We realize this will mean some will not be able to attend on a given Sunday. We will monitor the demand for attendance and review the number of services offered going forward.
Registration Process for Services
To ensure a fair and smooth attendance in accordance with the provincial guidelines, we have set up an online registration system (accessible through our website) that will allow you to register to attend the service each week. We are asking that you only register once every other week to allow for as many people to get an opportunity to participate in an in-person service. If there is room at the end of the week to accommodate more people you are welcome to register even if you attended service the previous week. The online registration will be limited to 100 people per service. You can also call the office (416-281-4138) during business hours (9am-4:30pm) and register. Registration will open beginning Tuesday, June 23.
Please note that we are asking those who are 65 and older, families with kids below grade 3, those who are immune compromised and those who have developmental disabilities to not attend in person services at this time.  There is an exception for parents with infants who would like to attend (the nursery will be open but not staffed). We would like to stress that while we want as many who are eligible to come there is no pressure to return to in-person worship at this time. So, if you are not ready to return or have family members who you feel may be put at risk by a gathering such as this, please know you have our blessing to stay home and return when you feel it is safe to do so.
Please note the following details before registering:

  • We are encouraging everyone to register on line or by phoning the church. We have limited the number of on line and phone in registrations in order to make available a few places for visitors who might come to our church on a given Sunday.
  • You will need to answer 4 screening questions before you register on line, over the phone or at the door: Please note these questions apply to everyone in your household:
1.     Have you experienced any cold or flu-like symptoms in the last 14 days (to include fever, cough, sore throat, respiratory illness, difficulty breathing)?

2 .  Have you travelled outside of Canada or had close contact with anyone that    has travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days?

3.   Do you have a fever?

4.   Have you had close contact with anyone with respiratory illness or a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19?
If you answered “YES” to any of the above questions you should not attend church.

  • Everyone joining us must continue to follow public health guidelines, including practicing physical distancing, bringing a non-medical mask/face covering and wearing it when physical distancing is a challenge, washing hands frequently and thoroughly, and avoiding touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

  • No food or beverage (including water) will be permitted in the building.

  • No congregational singing will be allowed until further notice in keeping with local health guidelines.

  • No offering will be taken, however there will be an offering box located at the entrance to the auditorium for those wishing to deposit their envelopes. You may also use the Morneris machine located at the Welcome Desk. We are encouraging you to continue to use the online options for giving.

  • The church has been cleaned and sanitized prior to your arrival and will be cleaned and sanitized after you leave.

  • Only the upper hall washrooms will be open and we are asking the congregation to use the large washrooms and the ministry and worships teams to use the small washrooms.

  • Please note that we will do all that we can to ensure a safe worship experience in our building but should you choose to attend a service you do so at your own risk.
Again, we want to thank you for your patience and prayers as we seek to return to our building to worship together as the people of God. We are looking forward to seeing many of you.
