Reopening in Massachusetts and Boston
|
|
The City of Boston will move into a modified version of the current phase of the state's reopening plan, effective Friday, April 30. The City will delay most of the state’s reopening guidance by three weeks.
FACE COVERINGS UPDATE
Effective Friday, April 30, Boston will align with the state’s updated Face Coverings Order:
Face coverings are not required outside in public spaces when individuals are able to remain at a safe distance from others. In all other circumstances, they are still required, except when eating or drinking.
PUBLIC AND PRIVATE GATHERINGS
Also effective April 30, public gatherings in Boston may increase to 100 people indoors and 150 people outdoors. In Boston, all private gatherings and events in private residences will remain subject to current capacity limits of 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors.
EFFECTIVE MONDAY, MAY 10:
Boston will allow indoor and outdoor stadiums, arenas and ballparks to increase capacity to 25 percent.
Additional businesses will be expected to reopen on June 1.
While the state has established a timeline for reopening, please keep in mind that Boston will have a different timeline based on their health metrics within the city.

Projections Returns for the 4th time!
On Sept 12, 2021, the Jamaica Plain Arts Council and Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation will project artists' images onto the exterior of JP’s Brewery Complex. After a year of an abundance of caution and staying home, imagine a coming together to celebrate art, to share live music and dancing in the streets. We have all been eager to be together, to share what we love and enjoy our urban village, Projections does that. Join us to celebrate Jamaica Plain's vibrant art scene.***
*** While being optimistically hopeful to come together, we are simultaneously cautious and planning a virtual option should public health and safety measures not permit being together in person.

Film Screening and Panel Discussion at JP Branch Library
|
|
Blanche Ames Ames (1878-1969) was an artist, an activist, a builder, an inventor, a birth control maverick, and a leader of the women's suffrage movement in Massachusetts. She was a woman of privilege who was not afraid to shock polite society. Her name doesn't appear in most American history books. This, too, is part of her story. The film is a 55-minute documentary that chronicles the life of a woman who was born in the 19th century, worked to change the 20th century, and whose wisdom still resonates in the 21st century.
