Outdoor Group Exercise Classes Begin Next Week!
Although we cannot fully reopen our facility on June 29 as expected, we're excited to begin a gradual reopening consisting of outdoor group exercise classes (such as bootcamp, yoga, and cycling!) and outdoor personal training, as well as access to the outdoor track. Read on for important information regarding these outdoor classes.

Reservations & Other Important Info:
  • Outdoor classes are limited to 9 participants (members only).

  • Classes can be reserved no more than 24 hours ahead of time and up to 3 hours before the class starts.

  • You must check in at the Welcome Center prior to the start of the class. Face coverings ARE required inside the West Suburban YMCA building when you check in.

  • Face coverings are encouraged but not required outside as long as participants are socially distanced.

We've also expanded our virtual offerings to include additional classes from some of your favorite instructors.

Kicking Off Summer Camp!
Camp Chickami Opens Next Week; Camp Pikati July 6th!
Our summer day camps, part of Phase 2 in Massachusetts' Reopening Plan, are preparing to open. Camp Chickami's opening week kicks off next Monday, June 29, and Camp Pikati starts on July 6! We're ready and we know the kids are too! Kids need camp more than ever before. After months of being cooped up at home, "Zoomed out" staring at screens, and away from their friends, we're so excited to bring kids a memorable summer experience!

We're ensuring this summer will be fun, active and safe for all. Kimberly Benzan, COO of the West Suburban YMCA, spoke with the Newton TAB about the creative ways we've been pivoting for camp - like setting up two large tents on either end of our field so that campers can stay outside for the majority of the day and maintain distance. We're Hiring! Camp Counselors Wanted
With many towns and organizations not running programs this summer, day camp is in high demand. We're trying to meet that demand for our community... But to do that we need more staff in order to comply with the state's counselor to camper ratio. Apply today!
Reminder: Complete the New Waiver & Code of Conduct
All members will need to agree to our new waiver and code of conduct before returning to the Y.

The new waiver and code of conduct have been translated into Spanish, Russian, Chinese, and German. Translated documents can be found here .
Reopening With Care: Looking Ahead
We're crossing our fingers for a July 6 facility reopening, dependent on when the state enters Phase 3 of its reopening plan, but we hope you can join us for an outdoor or virtual group exercise class, or personal training! And in case you missed it, learn about some of the initial changes you can expect at the Y in this week's Newton Tab .
