Today, Friday, November 2 is the last day for early voting! There is no voting on Monday, and General Election Day is Tuesday, November 6.
Under Republican Leadership, Georgia has seen: 700,000 new private sector jobs created (since 2010), unemployment fall to below 4%, K-12 education fully funded, $10+ billion in infrastructure funding, $5 billion tax cut for hard-working families, $16 million in School Security grants, rural revitalization legislation aimed at promoting broadband deployment and access to critical health care services, the protection of the HOPE Scholarship for generations to come.

And just this week, Gov. Nathan Deal announced that Fox Factory Holding Corp. will move its corporate headquarters to Georgia, create up to 800 jobs and invest $50 million in the state.
We can't go back!

A solid record of working for education and the safety of our children
Focusing precious education dollars on classroom teachers and students

A leader in protecting our children with school bus safety legislation
I believe in running for office on one's record and the record of the political party with which one is affiliated.

I am proud of my record of positive leadership and effective representation. I have worked hard to make our state a better place to receive an education, enjoy productive employment, raise our families and benefit from the opportunities our solid, conservative Republican policies produce and enhance. I could not be more proud of how far Georgia has come under Republican leadership that, you, the citizens of North Cobb and upper East Cobb County, have given me the opportunity to be part of.

I respectfully ask for you vote so that I can continue my service.
  • Helped enact an historic $5b income tax cut

  • Georgia named best state in which to do business five years in a row
 Jo's Italian Soup

Many thanks to my wife, Jo Lynn, for providing one of her recipes for the newsletters.

Italian Soup

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 chopped Vidalia sweet onion
¾ cup chopped carrot
¾ cup chopped celery
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 pound hot Italian sausage
2 cans petite diced tomatoes
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 bay leaves
1 quart chicken stock
1 can cannellini beans
⅔ cup uncooked orzo pasta
Salt and pepper to taste
Shredded Parmesan cheese for serving

In a stock pot, heat the olive oil and sauté the onion, carrot and celery for about 4 minutes or until softened. Add the garlic and cook for about one minute. Crumble the Italian sausage into the pot and continue cooking the mixture until the sausage is no longer pink. Add the cans of tomatoes and, using a potato masher, crush the tomatoes. Sprinkle the Italian seasoning and the red pepper flakes over the ingredients in the pot and stir. Add the bay leaves and chicken stock. Stir the mixture together and then bring it to a boil and let it simmer covered for about an hour. Remove the bay leaves from the pot and discard. Add the cannellini beans and the uncooked orzo to the pot. Continue simmering the soup until the orzo is tender. Salt and pepper the soup to taste. Serve the soup with the Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top.
