While the heat continues to rise, so does the amount of work we take on through the of session study committees! For the most part, study committee appointments have been made. Members of these committees will work through December in order to craft legislation for us to review during the 2018 session.
In other legislative news, I continue to enjoy touring the district, addressing constituent concerns and participating in the many panel discussions held throughout the Summer! I humbly thank you for your continued support as I continue serving our district in the Georgia House of Representatives.

As always, if you need anything at all, please feel free to contact me at anytime. Thanks so much and I hope to see all of you very soon!

Study Committee Overview

One of the most common questions I receive out of session is, "what do you do the rest of the year?" While we may not be on Capitol Hill year-round like our Federal counterparts, our work continues over the remaining 9 months, after the completion of our 40-day session. April through December we focus our efforts on constituent services, touring our districts, as well as, study committee work. Much like we are appointed to standing committees every two-year election cycle, many of us are also appointed to serve on Study Committees. Study Committees focus on research regarding specific areas where our state lacks. 2017 boasts 20 total groups between House and Senate Study Committees, as well as, Joint Committees and working groups.

House Rural Development Study Committee

House Rural Development Study Committee continues to make its way across our state. Meetings will focus on Georgia's rural economy by focusing on educational achievement, infrastructure needs, access to health care and economic growth incentives.

The study committee will stream all meetings live. For more information regarding the House Rural Development Study Committee, please click here.
