Dear Friends,

Fall is here! And in Florida, that means Football, Humidity, and more Humidity!

August was a packed month with lots going on in the community. We had a lot of folks reach out to myself and my office about the news of the Florida Great Outdoors Initiative. I stood alongside my Treasure Coast peers to work together to encourage FDEP to put a stop to the construction of Golf Courses at our beloved Jonathan Dickinson State Park.

Here is a letter from Congressman Brian Mast and fellow local leaders standing together.

I was able to attend and speak at the Treasure Coast Medical Institute Paramedic 08/09 Class Graduation. What an incredible group of heroes ready to support our community!

I attended a safety stakeholders meeting in Martin County to discuss recent legislative changes to the juvenile justice system as well as updating stakeholders on current department initiatives.

I was able to join Sam Yates and the Gold Coast Builders Association for a podcast. I greatly appreciated the invitation to participate!

My team was able to attend the IRSC Law Enforcement Graduation. These brave and dedicated individuals worked very hard to graduate! Our community is lucky to have this group for our future.

The team was also able to attend the State Farm and Safe Kids Treasure Coast - Good Neighbor Car Seat Safety Check Event. This was held at the PSL police department. What an incredible opportunity for folks in the community to get assistance with car seats.

Congressman Brian Mast won his primary election race and my team was able to attend his victory celebration.

The team was able to attend the Florida Training Services: Apprentice Training Facility Open House. They recently collaborated with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Saint Lucie and Martin Counties to provide Pre-Apprenticeship training at their facilities starting this upcoming school year. What a great resource for our future!

My Legislative Aide, Samantha Rosenberg, attended the Treasure Coast Young Republicans' August meeting.

This month, I was able to join my friend, Florida Congressman Byron Donalds, at the First Annual Florida Water Quality Summit. I was able to sit on a panel with other experts to discuss the future of Florida water.

The team also attended the Boys & Girls Club Community Power Lunch. With great information on the Promise Program that IRSC offers to our local students.

This past month, Maggie and I had the pleasure of traveling to Ireland to visit and learn about their Legislative System. I also got to attend the Noles Football game!

Constituent Spotlight:

We had a constituent reach out that was needing assistance for her son. He is disabled and was having issues with his Medicaid and was not able to get in touch with DCF. The mother reached out and that same day our office was able to work with our DCF partners to get the mother the help she needed. The mother was extremely grateful for our office being able to step in and assist in a very critical situation that was extremely stressful.
