Dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus, part of the growing repentance remnant:
Bishop Joseph Kazembe reminds me of the passion of Leonard Ravenhill. Here's a quote from Ravenhill's classic book on repentance: " Why Revival Tarries:"
No man is greater than his prayer life. The pastor who is not praying is playing. The people who are not praying are straying.
The pulpit can be a show window to display one's talent;
the prayer closet allows no showing off.
Poverty striken as the church is today in many things,
she is most striken here in the place of prayer.
We have many organizers, but few agonizers
Many players, and few payers
Many singers, few clingers
Lots of pastors, few wrestlers
Many fears, few tears
Much fashion, little passion
Many interferers, few intercessors
Many writers, but few fighters
Failing here, we fail everywhere
Bishop Joseph is not failing. He's a man of prayer, a fighter for Jesus. He's using repairs to his old car to preach repentance.
He is praying, not playing. He has that rare passion for prayer for young people to find Jesus. He is a humble fighter, an agonizer over the youth in his nation that they may know the Lord through Jesus' first Word: "Repent, the Kingdom of heaven is at hand."
Our Lord Jesus and the first disciples walked; now our Holy-Spirit filled disciples use bicycles, motorbikes and old cars, with new parts, to reach remote areas.
Here is an appeal for prayers and funding from Bishop Joseph Kazembe to have repairs on his old car, pictured above.
