Replanting our Urban Forest
The City of Burlingame's Parks Division is planting 115 trees throughout Burlingame in planter strip areas, tree lawns, and parks. This is the third and final planting this year.
The following tree species are being planted: Red maples, Eastern redbuds, Eucalyptus citriodoras, Chinese Flame trees, Ginkgoes, Tuscarora crepe myrtles, St. Mary magnolias, Chinese Pistache, Victorian box, sycamores, maytens, and Scarlet oaks.
Did you know you can request to have a street tree planted in front of your single-family property at no cost? This program is available for properties that don’t already have a street tree in front of the home. Contact the Parks Division at 650-558-7330, or visit

Environmental Tip of the Week
Choose 100% Renewable Energy
T-9 days until National Make a Difference Day. One significant action you can take today to combat climate change is to choose 100% renewable and carbon-free energy through Peninsula Clean Energy’s ECO100 program.
Why choose renewable energy? According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, electricity is the nation’s largest source of greenhouse gas emissions. Peninsula Clean Energy purchases power from renewable energy resources, which directly reduces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. GHG emissions are produced from the production and burning of traditional, fossil-based energy sources, such as natural gas and coal. GHG emissions are a leading cause of pollution and climate change. Peninsula Clean Energy helps to eliminate the emission of GHGs. It’s an easy and affordable way to reduce your carbon footprint.
