This fourth year of the City of Benicia – Valero Cooperation Agreement has proven to be another success. The Agreement has:


• Increased the overall safety of our community through an improved working relationship between the City and Valero

• Augmented emergency preparedness for both parties

• Heightened the City’s ability to respond to accidental hazardous substance releases

• Improved transparency and community access to information

Valero Benicia Refinery Kicks off Employee Giving Campaign for United Way

Valero Benicia hosted an employee-giving campaign kick-off and cook-off for United Way Bay Area to support their key programs. Last year this campaign raised close to $1M to support key United Way programs.


For more than four decades, Valero has been a strong supporter of United Way, "uniting" its employees with the needs of the community. Valero has contributed more than $236 million to 73 United Way affiliates in 26 states across America where employees live and work. We are proud to be among the largest corporate contributors to United Way chapters throughout our communities.

Valero Benicia Refinery volunteers at the annual Peddler's Fair

The Valero Benicia Refinery partnered with St. Paul's Church to provide a respite station (Shade & Refreshment Center) for attendees of Benicia's Peddlers Fair.


The Peddler's Fair is an outdoor event that began in 1963. The event has garnered thousands of loyal fans and is now considered the largest community event in Benicia. The Refinery is proud to volunteer at the Fair by providing shade and allowing attendees to remain hydrated throughout the day.

Valero Benicia Refinery sponsors the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life Fundraiser

The Valero Benicia Refinery proudly volunteered at the American Cancer Society's Annual Relay for Life fundraiser.


Relay for Life is an annual fundraising event in which 'relay teams' are formed to walk around St. Patrick - St. Vincent High School over a 24-hour period. The Refinery hosted the event's snack shack. We appreciate all employees — and their families — who volunteered at Relay for Life over the weekend.
