Dearest Mustang Community:
Dr. Robertson sent an email (excerpted below) on Friday, April 27 via Blackboard detailing student's opportunities to earn 3-5 EXTRA points on their third quarter grade...
Shelby County Schools is giving students in grades 1-12 an opportunity to improve their quarter 3 grades, which were the most recent grades completed at the time school closures occurred.
Students will have the opportunity to earn between three and five numeric points towards increasing their quarter 3 grade. Quarter 3 report cards will be available in PowerSchool on Monday April 27th.
If you cannot access the report card in Power School, call Student Information Management at 901.416.9991 to request the report card be sent via email. A representative will be available to assist you with this from 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday, April 27 through Friday, May 1. If Power School or email is not an option to view your student’s report card, you may pick up a hard copy of the report card from 10 AM to 2 PM, Monday, April 27th through Friday, May 1st at Shelby County Schools Board of Education located at 160 South Hollywood. SCS Staff will be available to receive the report card request outside.
Once you have reviewed your student’s report card, he or she will have the opportunity to complete the optional extra credit assignment to earn the possible 3 to 5 numeric points. Students who are within five numeric points of a higher letter grade are highly encouraged to participate in this optional grade improvement opportunity.
Students will have between May 4th and May 11th to complete and submit their assignments. Assignments will not be accepted after 11:59 p.m. on May 11th.
Please visit www.scsk12.org for more information about the 3rd Quarter Grade Improvement option. We hope that you and your family continue to stay safe during this pandemic. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or your child’s teachers. Thank you and have a great day. v/r, Dr. Newman C.
