Reporting on the Annual CRS Conference
|
In the coming week I will attend the annual conference of the Creation Research Society (CRS). The CRS is the oldest of the five national scale creation organization with ongoing research and publication presenting that research. The CRS annual conference is an event that brings the active researchers including PhD’s in many fields of science to present results of their ongoing research. In the process of bringing others up to date they will also receive questions, critique, and suggestions that are often very valuable aids to forward progress. Of course the opportunity for personal face to face greetings and conversation is a joy to all of us. It is a blessing to be reminded that although there are many challenges there is also much progress being made by our diligent efforts and the inspiration of our Lord.
|
Several things make this particular conference particularly interesting. First, last year’s conference was canceled because of the covid problems. So, we can expect two years of updates this time. Second, is the introduction of the new office and laboratory facilities of the CRS located on the campus of Arizona Christian University in Phoenix. These facilities are a large improvement over anything previously available. This upgrade will clearly increase the productivity of the research projects supported by CRS and its publication, the CRS Quarterly. The Quarterly is primarily a technical publication primarily aimed at interested people with some education and interest in the sciences. The CRS website is www.creationresearch.org and includes a wealth information about the Quarterly, the CRS, membership and more
|
To be fair I should mention four other organizations that do research and publish results. Many scientists in these other organizations will participate in the CRS Conference.
|
The Institute for Creation Research (ICR) has been operating since the 1960s and supporting a team of creation science researchers. Education programs and a monthly magazine, Acts and Facts, which presents article on their research written to be understood by educated layman. At ICR geologist Dr. Tim Clarey is doing some very important work bringing together highly detailed oil well data across the country and around the world to show that the rock layers were deposited by worldwide processes, not just local events. Use the ICR website at www.icr.org to search for papers and books of interest or subscribe to Acts & Facts - free for the asking! Also explore the ICR creation museum located I Dallas Tx.
|
Creation Ministries International (CMI) is another organization doing research and publishing results. They publish the Journal of Creation which has recently become available online at www.creation.com. Marine biologist Dr. Robert Carter and physical chemist Dr. Jonathan Sarfati are two of the principle researchers there.
|
Answers In Genesis (AIG) is likely the best known creation organization on the planet. They are responsible for the spectacular Creation Museum and Ark Encounter located in Kentucky. Search their website for info on the Museum and Ark as well as their publications for all interest and age groups. They also publish a technical journal titled Answers Research Journal (ARJ) edited by Geologist Dr. Andrew Snelling. ARJ is an excellent online source of technical information about modern creation science. Retired astronomer Dr. Danny Faulkner is another senior research scientist at AIG.
|
Finally, Logos Research Associates (LRA) is an association of scientists who do creation science research and support one another in those efforts. LRA has programs to educate and mentor young scientists wishing to become productive in creation research. Of special interest is the excellent website, www.logosresearchassociates.org including the About Us page with about 66 associates about two thirds of which hold a PhD. Clicking on a picture brings up biography and selected links to their published work. The President is world renowned geneticist Dr. John Sanford and Vice-president is renowned geophysicist Dr. John Baumgardner. Be sure to take special note of the Member Updates and Teaching Points pages because there is a wealth of authoritative knowledge there in print and videos. Skeptics should take special notice this resource

On August 5th at 7 pm the GHCA and I will provide a quick overview of the CRS Conference and the most significant presentations I attended there. If you are interested in creation and science you will get a bang out of this. Invite one and all to join us for this exciting update. We will meet in the Reception Room of Houston’s First Baptist Church. Please park in the senior parking lot under the big illuminated cross and come in the back door under the little green awning. While in the Reception Room no mask or distancing will be needed. See the maps in the right sidebar at GHCAonline.com The Presentation will be avail via webinar at the same time. See the webinar link at the top of this page

Looking forward to seeing you again in the Reception Room or online,

Examples of Important YEC Scientific Evidences
Some major examples of physical evidence we point to include:
- Remains of original soft tissue still found in dinosaur bones. Along with that tissue is C-14 that would decay completely away in less than a hundred thousand years, a tiny fraction of the dinosaur fossil's supposed age.
- For many years geologists have found C-14 in fossil carbon throughout the fossil record. So, the entire fossil record is less than 100,000 years old.
- The origin of the information and molecular machinery in the first living self-reproducing cell remains a complete enigma for biologist and biochemists.
- In the origin of the universe, big bang theory is being recognized as a dead end by increasing numbers of secular scientists. The hypothesized inflation has nothing to start it, drive it forward, or stop it. Without inflation fatal flaws appear with the absence of predicted antimatter, magnetic monopoles, or any means for the whole universe to come to the same precise background temperature. Then the formation of the first stars is as enigmatic as the origin of the first biological cell. Dark matter and dark energy are as enigmatic as the galactic motions they are needed to explain.
At the root of all standard science are many assumptions that may be quite incorrect. At the top is that there is no God. Another is that present process can be used to explain everything in the past. When we look at a canyon we are taught to assume the river at the bottom cut the canyon. But perhaps tectonic events made the canyon and there is a river at the bottom because water always flows downhill. At the root of big bang theory is a pure assumption that has been named the "Cosmological Principle". Perhaps inaccuracies there are responsible for the big bang's multitude of problems.
There is more about the role of assumptions in science found on our website here. There are many more resources on young earth and young universe evidences here.
