Reports Filed Today Show Supervisor Gorell With an Overwhelming Financial Advantage and Broad Community Support, With Just 90 Days Until Voting Begins
With election ballots arriving in just 90 days, Ventura County Supervisor Jeff Gorell has built an overwhelming financial advantage that reflects broad community support and confidence in his leadership and record of service.
According to official campaign finance reports filed this week, Supervisor Gorell has raised $297,348 for his re-election campaign and has $184,260 cash on hand. By comparison, the other two candidates in the race have $12,526 and $6,546 cash on hand respectively, resulting in an overwhelming advantage — a clear reflection of the strong community backing Supervisor Gorell has earned across District 2. During Supervisor Gorell’s first term on the Board of Supervisors, Ventura County earned recognition as the safest large county in California. The County also saw an 18 percent decrease in homelessness over the past two years. These outcomes reflect effective problem-solving, collaboration across agencies, and a consistent focus on public safety and community well-being.
Through this record of results, Supervisor Gorell has earned the support of public safety professionals, labor organizations, local businesses, and community leaders throughout the county. His approach to leadership — grounded in accountability, collaboration, and practical solutions — also led his colleagues on the Board of Supervisors to unanimously select him to serve as Chair, reflecting the trust and confidence he has built across county leadership.
Looking ahead, Supervisor Gorell remains focused on strengthening public safety, supporting working families, improving county services, and ensuring Ventura County is prepared for the challenges and opportunities ahead. A third-generation military veteran, Supervisor Gorell currently serves as a Captain (Intelligence Officer) in the United States Navy Reserve. He previously served as a criminal prosecutor with the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office and represented Ventura County in the California State Assembly from 2010 to 2014.
Supervisor Gorell represents District 2, which includes the City of Thousand Oaks; northern and eastern portions of the City of Camarillo; Newbury Park; Westlake Village; Oak Park; Hidden Valley; Lake Sherwood; Somis; Las Posas Valley; Camarillo Springs; Camarillo Heights; Casa Conejo; Santa Rosa Valley; Ventu Park; and the South Coast.
