From the Desk of HD 4 State Representative Keith Bell
Monthly Update - December 2020
Great to be with the Kaufman County Republican Women’s Club Associate Members at the annual service project cooking burgers and serving the ladies at the Genesis Women’s Center!
With the 87th Session approaching, democrats have been filing anti-gun bills like House Bill 196 that aim to amend a section of the Texas Penal Code known as the “Castle Doctrine” by reducing the rights of Texans to defend themselves and their property.

I strongly oppose this bill and it's attempt to take away our Second Amendment rights. I will work to ensure this bill does not become law and will always fight to protect our Constitutional right to defend ourselves!
Great to spend time in Henderson County with the Lone Star Republican Club at the swearing-in of their newly elected club officers!

Congratulations and thank you for your work keeping Texas Red!

A-F Ratings Paused for the 2020-21 School Year
On December 10th, the
Texas Education Agency Commissioner Mike Morath paused the A-F Ratings for the 2020-21 School Year due to the ongoing disruptions associated with COVID-19.

Check out the press release below for details.

Earlier this month, I spent time at the Capitol to place the House District 4 Christmas ornament on the House Christmas Tree. Art Teacher Rose Steele at Athens High School hand-painted the Athens-inspired ornament incorporating iconic buildings, monuments and images that reflect the community.

Thank you Mrs. Steele for your remarkable work!
Enjoyed time in Athens with Oak Wood Place Senior Living at the ground-breaking of their launched expansion which will include 16 new independent living cottages and a clubhouse for residents.

Thanks to Mayor Montgomery, David Daniels and Blake Daniels for the invitation!
