California Association of School Counselors (CASC) Event

On October 19 and 20, CCRA Past President Carolyn Dasher and Board Member Regina DeMoville attended the California Association of School Counselors (CASC) event in Riverside, CA. This event is a showcase for all school counselors across the state. CCRA has represented our industry at this event for many years, educating thousands of school counselors on our amazing profession with the goal that they will share the information with their students in all grade levels.

Regina DeMoville captioned the luncheon on both days to showcase CART Captioning and give a live demonstration of what we do! It was a very emotional session, highlighting the incredible work that these school counselors do every single day. One of the keynote speakers was a school counselor who saved her school from a mass shooting, when a student went to her office to chat with her and told her he had a gun. It was an honor to caption these speakers.

When Regina and Carolyn spoke to attendees after the luncheon and told them a live captioner was providing the captioning, many people thought it was AI. It was a great opportunity to represent our industry and network with our state's school counselors. Check out this short video clip of the amazing captions!
