We sorrowfully note the passing of Marty McKenzie, a great friend and long-time supporter of the Moore County GOP. He left us on Saturday, January 17, and we deeply mourn his loss.
A believer in the promise of Pinehurst, he spent his life helping to develop a prosperous business environment, as well as promoting the many attractions and the magic of our town. The owner of Olmsted Village Shopping Center, where our headquarters are located, as well as The Theater Building and the Department Store building in the Village, Marty was always great to our Republican organizations and we will miss him.
A Memorial Service, followed by a Celebration of Life will be held in the Pinehurst Fair Barn, 200 Beulah Hill Rd, on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
We send our prayers to his family, friends and myriad others whose lives he touched.
