Republicans of Norwalk and Darien
Unanimously Endorse Tracy Marra for State Representative

Tracy Marra was unanimously endorsed for the 141st State Representative District of Norwalk/Darien. Marra’s campaign is focused on public safety, identifying and addressing students’ struggles with education and incentivizing and attracting businesses to grow Connecticut’s economy and improve affordability.

Delegates for the 141st State Representative seat from Darien and Norwalk met Tuesday the 17th to nominate their candidate. Representative Terrie Wood, the current State Representative of the 141st seat, nominated Marra. Wood spoke highly of Marra's dedication to local politics and her focus on policy. “She is passionate about sound policy and good governance — and believes in listening to constituents and that a bottom-up government — not top down — represents people best,” said Wood. Jill McCammon, a delegate from Darien, seconded the nomination and highlighting Marra's education and training as a pharmacist when discussing her qualifications for the position.

In her acceptance speech, Marra said she will campaign hard for the district. “We have to attract people back to the Republican Party, the people that have left as well as new residents, it has become too divisive,” she said. Republicans have a big umbrella. Her campaign will focus on solutions that will serve the entire community including public safety, education, as well as making Connecticut affordable for all people and businesses.

“Hartford’s overreach, high taxes, and regulations result in companies and people moving to more competitive states,” she said. “Our taxes are some of the highest in the country and the services we receive from the state do not justify those costs.”

Tracy is not only motivated by making Connecticut a more competitive, prosperous place to live, she’s also critically concerned about the wellbeing of its residents and students. In a statement, Marra commented on recent events in Darien:

“This recent tragedies in Darien illustrates that students are struggling in a post-pandemic world,” said Marra. “Our education system needs support to deal with this crisis as well as a road map forward.” Our students are facing unique challenges right now, and we need to support our kids and our community in an extraordinary way.

Tracy Marra is a Darien resident, a lifelong Republican, a trained pharmacist, community advocate, and mother of three children. Her involvement includes the Darien Community Association, Connecticut Against Gun Violence, and the Republican Town Committee. Marra served as Terrie Wood’s campaign manager in 2020 and was highly involved in the municipal elections in 2021. She is the State Central Representative for the Stamford and Darien district. She was born in Lexington, KY.
