NJBPU today released the Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22) Straw Proposal for New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program (CEP) Comprehensive Resource Analysis (CRA) and the proposed FY22 program budgets and compliance filings for stakeholder and public input. Through the CRA process, the CEP funding levels for energy efficient and Class I renewable energy programs are established. The proposed funding level will fund the core CEP programs and provide opportunities for new and enhanced programs that help residents, businesses, and state and local governments reduce energy usage, save money, and improve the environment. The investments by the State in the proposed FY22 CEP will serve as a vital role in the continued recovery from COVID-19.
On May 23, 2018, Governor Murphy signed the Clean Energy Act (CEA) into law which established ambitious goals for the State’s energy future. Additionally, Governor Murphy signed Executive Order No. 28 directing state agencies to develop an updated Energy Master Plan that provides a path to 100% clean energy by 2050. The CEP plays a critical role in meeting the requirements of the CEA and the FY22 plans provide a pathway to advance those goals.
The FY22 CRA straw proposal and the FY22 program budgets and compliance filings are available here.
The public hearing on the FY22 CRA Straw Proposal, along with the proposed FY22 program budgets and filings, will take place on May 25, 2021.
