About: This study aims to assess changes in balance, mobility, quality of life, fatigue, and heart health after completing the program.



Who: They are looking for people who have experienced a stroke more than 6-months ago, who are having issues with walking and standing due to stroke, are using a walking aid, and can stand up from a chair.




Optimizing the Wellbeing of Solo Retirees in Canada

About: This study aims to enhance the quality of life and optimize the wellbeing of solo retirees



Who: They are looking for retirees (or are soon to be retired) and solo (someone who has never married/partnered, is separated, divorced, or widowed, or is currently living apart from a partner and has retired or is nearing retirement.)



Hearing and the Brain

About: This study aims to understand how different causes of hearing loss may impact brain structure and function.


Who: They are looking for individuals aged 30-65 years who have received platinum (“platin”) or taxane-based chemotherapy, and individuals 60+ years with either normal hearing or age-related hearing loss

About: This study looks at how pain affects a person’s attention while walking and ‘multitasking with a cell phone’ study that is examining the distraction that a cell phone poses when walking and talking.

Lived Experience of Older People at the Midpoint of the Decade

About: This study looks to understand their lived experiences as an older person, including their thoughts and beliefs surrounding their age, their perceived role in society, perspectives on the environments in which they live and their access to health and social services.


Who: They are looking for older adults (60 years and above). 



Cognitive and Brain Health

About: This study looks at possible neural markers of subjective cognitive decline (when you feel that something has changed (i.e., memory) and you are concerned). They are still recruiting for the SYNERGIC2 trial that provides non-pharmacological interventions virtually to improve brain health in people with mild cognitive impairment.


Who: They are looking for older adults (60 years and above).

Meaning of Aging

About: The study aims to explore the meaning attributed to aging and old age as well as the place of older adults in our society. This study is being conducted entirely independently by the principal investigator, Martine Lagacé, a master’s candidate in Public Ethics at St-Paul University. Your participation will involve a single interview, either in person or online (according to your preference), lasting approximately 45 minutes.

Bone & Brain Health - Post-Menopause

About: The Neuropsychology Laboratory at the University of Ottawa is seeking participants to take part in an in­-person study on post-menopause, memory, executive functioning, and bone health. They are seeking females ages 50-70, at least 2 years since their last menstrual cycle, fluent in English, with normal or corrected vision, and a BMI between 25-40 kg/m2. In this study, you will provide blood samples, physiological measurements, complete a series of memory and executive functioning tests, and complete questionnaires assessing your physical health, mood, and diet. Compensation is available for participants of the research.
