Achievements
The goal of this project is to develop transformative solubility-selective mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) that will outperform current leading membranes by 50 – 100%, and may enable membrane processes to meet the DOE target of
< $30/ton CO 2 captured from coal-derived flue gas.
Congratulations to Ogechi Ogoke, a PhD student from the Parashurama research group. Ogechi took first place on April 10 in the University at Buffalo’s Henry A. Panasci Jr. Technology Entrepreneurship Competition (Panasci TEC) for a patient-specific cell therapy that can someday be used as an alternative to a liver transplant.
Research
CBE PhD candidate Yanghua He from the Wu research group has developed a cobalt catalyst for electrochemical energy technology that solves environmental concerns
CBE PhD candidate Zhi Qiao from the Wu research group is developing porous graphitic carbon with a balance between graphitization and porosity for the support of Pt-based fuel cell catalysts.
CBE News

Support UB CBE Students
We provide students with opportunities for collaboration with faculty and researchers across the campuses and Western New York scientific community. We work hard to inspire our students to think bigger, and in turn they are discovering new energy sources, more efficient vaccines, and improving every day life through health, energy, and environmental breakthroughs.

Many alumni have already made their donation.  Please consider joining them , and thanks.
