Don't Bargain on Research Security with Discounted AI Tools

A tip from the Rutgers Research Security team

As AI tools become increasingly common in teaching, research, and administrative work, Rutgers is encouraging faculty and staff to use only university-approved AI services when working with Rutgers information. While free or discounted AI offerings may seem attractive, they may not provide the privacy, security, and data protections needed to safeguard university research, student records, and other sensitive information. If you're exploring AI tools for your work, the Office for Research Security team, Rutgers IT staff, and the OIT Help Desk are all available to assist. Rutgers also continues to expand access to approved AI technologies so that our community can take advantage of these powerful tools while protecting the data entrusted to us.
