Application Tip #19
What happens if the deadline falls on a Sunday or Public Holiday?

In this case, the reference letter must be postmarked by the following Monday/business day. However, please note that application materials must be submitted to the online DAAD portal by the deadline, regardless of what day of the week it is.

Fun Fact
Did you know that...

...in the fall, many wineries in Germany offer special menus in rustic settings? These only last for a few weeks and are especially popular with hikers on the weekend. You can recognize participating vineyards by the bouquet of dried flowers or a broom outside the entrance, aptly giving these their name: Straußenwirtschaft or Besenwirtschaft .
