Updates to IACUC Policies and Guidelines

The IACUC has updated several of its policies and guidelines. See below for a few highlighted items and click here to view additional details.

Submitting IACUC Personnel Amendments: When submitting amendment applications to add personnel to approved IACUC protocols, remember to submit a copy of each individual’s section G form. The information can be included under the Description of Change section within the amendment form. 

Other Recent Policy Updates
New IRB Form Training Opportunity

The new Application/Protocol form is now available for use in IRBNet and will be required for all new submissions on Oct. 1, 2022. Researchers are encouraged to begin using the new form during this transition time.

Training is offered every Tuesday at 10 a.m. from now through the beginning of the Fall semester. Join us on Zoom for an upcoming training session by visiting the IRB Training Calendar to register.

The IRB 101 Workshop will be offered monthly to guide researchers on how to use the IRBNet submission platform, documents required for IRB review, and the overall submission process.
Register with the IBC via BioRAFT

All new and renewed IBC registrations must be submitted through BioRAFT. Existing IBC registrations are valid until their listed expiration dates.

Any amendments to existing registrations can be made using the forms on the IBC webpage.

RCR CITI Routing through Workday

Research Accounting has launched a new business process in Workday to upload an employee’s RCR-CITI Training Certificate. This process has been active for current use as a soft launch, and will transition into a mandatory process effective Aug. 1, 2022.

Upon this date, any costing allocations, period activity pay, or payroll accounting adjustments for students (undergraduate and graduate) and postdoctoral fellows paid from federal or federal flow through awards/grants (fund “F0005” for sponsored Grants Federal), must have an RCR-CITI Training Certificate uploaded to their employee profile in Workday. A Human Resources representative in the employee’s (student) designated supervisory organization can upload RCR certificates on their behalf, including employees selected for hire but have not completed their onboarding process.
Andrew Donovan is now the primary contact for Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) as Judith Martinez has moved to assisting with the Social, Behavioral and Educational Research and Health Sciences IRB’s, in addition to the continued project management for the transition into Novelution.

Research Integrity has updated the FAQs on the Division of Research's Chat Bot, which you can use to ask questions like "which training do I need for IRB or IACUC?". Ask specific questions about compliance areas, for example, “forms for IRB” or “forms for IACUC.”
