Deadlines Approaching for Financial Conflict of Interest Mandatory Training
All researchers are reminded of the mandatory conflict of interest training. After July 1, all investigators are strongly encouraged to complete the training within 30 days of their grant submission. After Dec. 31, all FAU investigators will be required to complete this training prior to submitting a grant. The Division of Research policy states that accounts will not be set up without completing the training.

Web Update: Take a Peek Before You Seek in IRBNet
Research Integrity recently updated the " What to Submit to IRB " page to provide an easy guide of forms available through the IRBNet system and their respective uses. All researchers using human subjects are encouraged to review this page for additional information and guidance prior to assembling and submitting their forms through IRBNet.
Conducting Research with Protected Health Information
Don't forget to take CITI Health Information and Privacy and Security (HIPS) Training for Investigators if you use protected heath information (PHI) in your research.

Link your training to your IRBNet submissions (new, continuing reviews, amendments) that involve collection or use of PHI. By Dec. 31, all users working with PHI for research are expected to have CITI HIPS training. This training requirement only applies to a small percentage of IRB submissions. Click here for more information or here for a Quick HIPAA How To.
New Clinical Trials Training Added
FAU has added a new course to the wide-array it offers through the CITI training portal.. The Clinical Research Coordinator course on the CITI training site is optional. It's useful for those involved in clinical trials regardless of funding source and/or whether or not the study is FDA regulated.

The course also provides the option of purchasing Regulatory Binder Tabs to help PIs, coordinators, and research teams organize and retain information in order to achieve regulatory compliance and standards of excellence in a clinical research study.

To take the course, follow these steps:

  1. Log in CITI
  2. Go to the main menu
  3. Click Add a Course or Update Learner Group, and you will see the attached (CRC capture) when you scroll down to the bottom.
