Why Exercise Intensity Matters More For Your Health Than Steps


Physical inactivity has a huge effect on our body and mind. It causes approximately 16% of deaths in the U.S. annually. Exercise also protects us from toxic chemicals that can destroy nerve tissues and drive depression and dementia.


But what type of exercise is best? How long? How often?


To help us better understand how to get the most out of our efforts, we enlisted an expert, Keith Baar, a professor in the Department of Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior at UC Davis.
