Are You a Health Services Researcher?

A group of UK faculty are working to “revision” the Center for Health Services Research (CHSR). CHSR’s leadership left UK in September, and we see this as an opportunity to rethink and reorganize. Our overarching goal is to create a “CHSR 2.0” that is more inclusive of health services/health policy researchers across campus, is better connected to our educational programs, and offers a real value-add to researchers and the stakeholders we (can) serve.

If you consider yourself to be a health services researcher or just have an interest in HSR, we want to hear from you! Click the bold link below o RSVP for the session (and generate a zoom/outlook invite).

Virtual focus group/listening sessions in the next few weeks:

Friday, February 25, 2022 – 1-2pm

Tuesday, March 1, 2022 – 2-3pm

Questions during these sessions will focus on:

  • What value could a “CHSR 2.0” bring that would be meaningful to you?
  • With your current HSR-related research projects, what services, resources, expertise, or education/training would be helpful?
  • What is the next HSR project do you want to be involved with?
  • What else should we be thinking about as we rethink and reorganize?

Thanks in advance for your input!

American Cancer Society - RFA: The Role of Health Policy and Health Insurance in Improving Access to and Performance of Cancer Prevention, Early Detection, and Treatment Services

Agency: American Cancer Society

Description: A call for research that evaluates the impact of the many changes now occurring in the healthcare system with a particular focus on cancer prevention, control, and treatment. Efforts focusing on improving access to care may also impact inequities that contribute to health disparities. New health public policy initiatives such as the new federal and state marketplaces that have expanded insurance coverage, as well as Medicaid expansion in some states, create natural experiments ripe for evaluation. Research to be funded by this RFA should focus on the changes in national, state, and/or local policy and the response to these changes by healthcare systems, insurers, payers, communities, practices, and patients.

Closing Date: April 1, 2022 and October 15, 2022
