Research News & Trainings

On July 13, 2022 the Scholars@UK online portal (scholars.uky.edu) will be announced.

Vice President for Research Lisa Cassis has asked that you log into Scholars@UK, update your profile photo and add career-spanning content to make your profile accurate and complete. This may include research interests or a biographical statement. These additional data points will create a robust online profile of your accomplishments, interests, and, most importantly, your research and scholarship.

Sharing several important resources for you as you work with your profile.

  • 401 or 404 Unauthorized Error: If you get this error message, it is most likely you are trying to access Scholars@UK from off campus and/or are not on VPN from a remote location. The site is currently accessible only from the campus network, or via VPN when remote. On July 13 that limitation will go away. If you ARE on the campus network and still get this error, please email [email protected] with your specific IP address, and we will investigate.

  • Scholarly Work & Output: Not all of your scholarly output will currently be on your profile. It includes publications indexed in the SCOPUS database, but many researchers will have output that is not indexed by that database. As a result, you will need to load additional content via the many options (automatic through Web of Science, PubMed, and others, or manually if the publications or output are not indexed in large global databases). Click here for instructions.

  • Training: Our help page contains a lot of information, but we also hold training sessions via zoom. Please see our schedule

  • Profile Data: When you log in to your profile and make edits some of the information about your positions here at UK, affiliations and degrees are pulled from the UK Faculty Database. If they are inaccurate, those records will need to be updated in the internal database. Please contact your department administrator or faculty affairs office to make those underlying database corrections. Note: Dates of employment for positions here at UK will be incorrect when you are logged in and working with your metadata. We know this. They are hardcoded in order to have positions listed on your profile in a particular order. You can ignore this. They are not public or viewed beyond you when logged in and are NOT used for any reporting.

  • Synced Data: Some data fields within your profile meta data are synced with internal databases such as the faculty database. These fields cannot be edited if they include this symbol (below).
