FieldVets is a veteran-owned and managed online labor platform created for military veterans, reservists, their spouses, and other direct family members. FieldVets is focusing on work in utilities, telecom, wireless, IoT, and similar industries with critical deployment needs.

Utility Metering Solutions (UMS), founded in 1987, is a product-independent firm specializing in the design, build, integration, and maintenance of utility programs, including advanced metering, billing systems, system city design & integration, network lighting & controls, and water conservation.

RTCC Announces New Executive Director and Hires Communications & Events Manager
|
In December, the Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster named Susan Sanford as the new Executive Director. She previously served as RTCC's Director of Membership Development and Engagement. Along with Susan's new role, Emmit Owens also was promoted to Manager of Business Recruitment and Retention.
To hit the ground running in 2017, RTCC also hired Matt Abele as the Communications & Events Manager. He previously served in a communications role at the NC Clean Energy Technology Center.

The Electric Vehicle Evolution

Electric vehicles are a growing market for new car purchases. At the end of 2016, 561,022 plug-in electric vehicles were registered in the United States. These vehicle owners made the switch from the gas station to an electrical outlet to fuel their vehicles.

Cleantech Connect Career Fair

Join the Research Triangle
Cleantech
Cluster and Work in the Triangle for the Cleantech Connect Career Fair at the State Energy Conference on April 12, 2017 from 3pm - 5pm. The career fair will take place at the McKimmon Conference Center on North Carolina State University's campus.
Last year's career fair had participation from 16 Triangle area cleantech companies with nearly 300 attendees. If your company is interested in recruiting at the 2017 career fair, please contact Emmit Owens.

Unleashing the Power of the Triple Helix in Our Region
|
RTCC will be hosting a lunch discussion at the UNC Clean Tech Summit about making the Research Triangle the nation's first smart and connected region. Participants will include leaders from the cleantech industry, the real estate community, academia, and local & state government. Discussions will potential include identifying a location for a smart cities demonstration site in the region.
This discussion will follow the
Public-Private Partnerships between Universities and the Private Secto
r panel.

RTCC's industry-led action committees provide members with opportunities to network with peers and to amplify their company's brand.
Talent Action Committee
Led by Preston Miller with Schneider Electric and Stephen Barrington with the Capital Area Workforce Development Board, the TAC focuses on increasing awareness of cleantech industry opportunities within the region and on sharing best practices between cleantech, HR leaders, e.g. university co-op programs. Contact Susan Sanford to get involved.
Programs & Communications Committee
Led by Alyssa Farrell with SAS and Linda Palmer with Sensus, the PAC focuses on conveying RTCC members' success stories from a customer perspective and identifying thought leaders for speaking opportunities.

Led by Steve Carter with Hoffman Business Technologies and Kiersten Williams with G&S Business Communications, the MDC is focused on increasing RTCC's membership and onboarding new members to extract connections and value from the Cluster.
