Fayzul Pasha (Civil & Geomatics Engrg) received a five-year, $150,000 grant from the U.S. Forest Service to help the Sierra National Forest with infrastructure projects funded by the Great American Outdoors Act.

Tim Hamel (Kinesiology) received a $20,000 grant from the Fresno Unified School District for Health Pathway students to participate in the Sports Science Institute at Fresno State.

Amanda McKeith and Kyle Thompson (Animal Sciences and Ag Ed) received Campus ARI funding for their project, Promoting Producer Resilience in California through Succession Planning and Olive Pomace Feeding Strategies in Cattle.

Pei-Ying Wu (LEBSE) received a $50,000 grant from the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools for the Strengthening Fresno County ECE Workforce Pipeline Project.

Tania Pacheco-Werner (CVHPI) received a $100,000 grant from the Fresno Madera Continuum of Care to provide an evidence-based index to identify and pilot an equity-based placement priority index and data analysis.

Bill Bommer (Management) received the Craig School of Business Faculty Award for Research and the Journal of Management's award for the highest impact paper over the past five years.

W. Saam Noonsuk (Art History) was featured in Fresno State Magazine for his work as a cultural adviser on the Fresno Chaffee Zoo's new Kingdoms of Asia exhibit.

Congratulations to Kalyani Maitra (Chemistry and Biochemistry) and Nancy Vue (Advising and Career Development Center, Jordan College), who were among 30 faculty and staff from Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) around the nation selected as part of the 2023 class of E. Kika De La Garza Fellows.
Both visited Washington, D.C. in July to learn more about the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) services and programs that will benefit them and their students. This effort is part of USDA’s commitment to advance equity in professional development opportunities as well as build a more diverse pipeline into public service and the agricultural sector.

Faculty, mark your syllabi and calendars and register your classes for the end-of-semester HIPs Symposium to be held on Friday, Dec. 8, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event gives students a chance to share their high-impact learning experiences with the community.
