Linking ORCID iD to eRA Commons Profile
:
Beginning in FY 2020, the
National Institutes for Health
will require all investigators to include their Open Researcher and Contributor Identification (ORCID) on new grant proposal submissions. Use of its unique digital identifier helps to connect researchers with their science contributions over time and across changes of name, location and institutional affiliation. NIH encourages not only senior scientists, but also grad students to register for an ORCID.

Conflict of Interest law seeks to minimize the extent to which public employees pursue their own financial interests at the expense of public interest. Investigators are required to disclose Significant Financial Interest (SFI) whenever an investigator applies for funding from
National Science Foundation (NSF)
, Public Health Service (PHS) agencies (e.g.,
National Institutes of Health
), or other agencies adopting federal requirements. Investigators requesting funds from state, county, and city government are exempt from filing conflict of interest forms.
