This is a great opportunity to engage our children during the school vacation when they have too much free time. Get them away from the Internet & all devices! And immerse them in 3 days of intensive but amazingly fun Holy Spirit workout, with praise & worship, bible stories, and an animated children's Life in the Spirt Seminar, culminating in prayers for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. INFANT BAPTISM. Expectant parents should call the office to register for the baptism of your baby. Most of our baptisms take place during Sunday Mass.
CATECHISM CLASSES FOR CHILDREN - take place on Sundays, from 8:15am to 9:15am.
ADULT BAPTISM & other Sacraments of Initiation – call to register.
√ Our new RCIA Class will be starting soon. RCIA stands for: “Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.”
This program is for:
- Those who are not baptized and want to inquire about becoming Catholic.
- Those who are non-Catholic Christians and want to consider becoming Catholic.

The Supreme Court overturned its Roe v. Wade ruling today Friday
The Supreme Court overturned its Roe v. Wade ruling Friday with a 5-4 decision in a Mississippi case that returns the issue of abortion to the American people and their elected lawmakers after nearly 50 years.
The high court’s dramatic and historic ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization was not a surprise to either side of the abortion debate, since a draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito was leaked to Politico in early May.
The Supreme Court’s 1973 ruling in Roe v. Wade legalized abortion on demand across the nation, replacing restrictions that previously were determined state by state.
But the high court holds in Dobbs that the Constitution doesn’t confer a right to abortion, overrules both Roe v. Wade and the related Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania v. Casey, and returns the authority to regulate abortion to Americans through their elected representatives.
“Roe was egregiously wrong from the start,” Alito writes in the majority opinion, adding:
Its reasoning was exceptionally weak, and the decision has had damaging consequences. And far from bringing about a national settlement of the abortion issue, Roe and Casey have enflamed debate and deepened division. It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.
The high court heard arguments in December in Dobbs, a case centered on a Mississippi law prohibiting a woman from getting an abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy. The state’s abortion law largely is in line with those of most Western European countries.
In his opinion, Alito writes:
Roe was on a collision course with the Constitution from the day it was decided, Casey perpetuated its errors, and those errors do not concern some arcane corner of the law of little importance to the American people. Rather, wielding nothing but ‘raw judicial power,’ … the Court usurped the power to address a question of profound moral and social importance that the Constitution unequivocally leaves for the people.
The high court’s 6-3 decision doesn’t mean a national ban on abortion, as many pro-abortion activists have suggested. Some states, including New York and California, have laws that allow late-term abortions.
However, about half the states have abortion restrictions on the books, while about 20 passed laws expanding abortion in recent years.
“The injustice of Roe has finally come to an end, and the momentum to protect life in law is finally on the side of innocent preborn children and their mothers who deserve our help,” Students for Life President Kristan Hawkins said in a written statement.

On this day, the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we rejoice that the most unjust and racially motivated judicial decision in the history of the United States Supreme Court has been overturned!
Alleluia!!!
However, as the legal battle now moves to the states, we enter into a new phase of the battle for souls and for the soul of America.
So, let is pray and do penance for the conversion of hearts.
I am on a priest retreat and pilgrimage in Fatima, Portugal at this time. Let us join together in asking Our Blessed Mother, the Patroness of Life, to intercede for all Catholics of the United States (and the world) and all Christians, that as disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ, we may have the courage, faith and love needed to speak up for our unborn brothers and sisters.
May we pass on to the next generation a “culture of life,” in which every person, from every culture, young & old, rich & poor, born and pre-born, might be respected in society, cherished in families and protected in law.

A Response from the US Bishops
In response to the Supreme Court of the United States issuing its ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, Archbishop José H. Gomez of Los Angeles, president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and Archbishop William E. Lori of Baltimore, chairman of the USCCB’s Committee on Pro-Life Activities issued the following statement:
“This is a historic day in the life of our country, one that stirs our thoughts, emotions and prayers. For nearly fifty years, America has enforced an unjust law that has permitted some to decide whether others can live or die; this policy has resulted in the deaths of tens of millions of preborn children, generations that were denied the right to even be born.
“America was founded on the truth that all men and women are created equal, with God-given rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This truth was grievously denied by the U.S. Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade ruling, which legalized and normalized the taking of innocent human life. We thank God today that the Court has now overturned this decision. We pray that our elected officials will now enact laws and policies that promote and protect the most vulnerable among us.
“Our first thoughts are with the little ones whose lives have been taken since 1973. We mourn their loss, and we entrust their souls to God, who loved them from before all ages and who will love them for all eternity. Our hearts are also with every woman and man who has suffered grievously from abortion; we pray for their healing, and we pledge our continued compassion and support. As a Church, we need to serve those who face difficult pregnancies and surround them with love.
“Today’s decision is also the fruit of the prayers, sacrifices, and advocacy of countless ordinary Americans from every walk of life. Over these long years, millions of our fellow citizens have worked together peacefully to educate and persuade their neighbors about the injustice of abortion, to offer care and counseling to women, and to work for alternatives to abortion, including adoption, foster care, and public policies that truly support families. We share their joy today and we are grateful to them. Their work for the cause of life reflects all that is good in our democracy, and the pro-life movement deserves to be numbered among the great movements for social change and civil rights in our nation’s history.
“Now is the time to begin the work of building a post-Roe America. It is a time for healing wounds and repairing social divisions; it is a time for reasoned reflection and civil dialogue, and for coming together to build a society and economy that supports marriages and families, and where every woman has the support and resources she needs to bring her child into this world in love.
“As religious leaders, we pledge ourselves to continue our service to God’s great plan of love for the human person, and to work with our fellow citizens to fulfill America’s promise to guarantee the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all people.”

Ringwood State Park is a 5,000 acre state park with many hiking trails. Ringwood State Park entrance is just across the street from the NJ Botanical Garden entrance and Shepherd’s Lake.
In addition to the hiking trails, there is a small playground for little children and a serene area of babbling brooks with a bridge and picnic tables.
The spring-fed waters of the 74-acre Shepherd Lake offer excellent recreational opportunities, as well as providing a stunning backdrop for a barbecue.
The area also offers picnicking, a playground, boating, fishing and access
to a network of trails suitable for hiking, mountain biking and other activities.
