We also will be discussing the One Region, One Book book Hidden Figures for Young Readers by Margaret Lee Shetterly. Grades 5 and up only. Please register on our website for Zoom meeting code. Thursday, July 30  at 2:00 p.m. SUMMER READING PRIZE DRAWING #5 Outdoor Fun Pack. This pack includes hacky sacks, paratroopers, a super soaker and other fun toys! 
Reminder: everybody should have their 5th BINGO boards turned at this program.

Friday, July 31  from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Outdoor Program! Social Distancing Picnic. Come to the green behind the visitors center to lay out a blanket and eat a provided, individually wrapped snack. Each teen/tween that attends gets a blind-date-with-a-book (a book that is wrapped in brown paper) with their snack to enjoy. Bring your own book if you'd rather for some quiet reading time outside! Grades 5 th and up. Please register- limited attendance and we need to know how many snacks and books to pack. This event counts as one point towards the summer's 8 point goal. Get 8 points, and you'll earn a $25 VISA gift card! Please register.

Friday, July 31 at 2:00 p.m. Remote Writing in the Cyber World: Journaling in the Time of the Pandemic. Use your journal for self-guidance and expanded creativity while exploring the personal search for wisdom. Add laughter,  happiness,  positive energy and awareness. Enjoy poetry and music while writing about these things. Imagine what we can accomplish when we use some optimistic writing prompts. To wrap up our awesome summer reading program we have booked the talented puppeteer John McDonough of The Pumpernickle Puppet Company who will perform for us Sir George and The Dragon! His performance will be available virtually for a week and the link will be sent out to everyone to enjoy! 

Wednesday, August 5 at 3:00 p.m. Outdoor Program! ART UNDER the TREES! Pulled String Art! Join Ms. Abigail to make a pulled string art painting. The process is captivating and the results are beautiful. All ages. Please register in advance. Rain Date: August 12.

before or after having a refreshment and tour of the Gallery with Michael Danon. (

Summer Reading Program for kids entering PreK-4th:
Summer Reading kicks off at the end of June with the first BINGO Board. Download the Board from our website each week, fill in your Bingos by doing the tasks, and send it back for a chance to win one of 6 AMAZING raffle prizes. Prizes can be seen in the Children's Room or on our website. Each BINGO counts as one ticket, so get to it! For more info.
