MAY 2026 | Your monthly connection to advocacy and action!

A message from our President

As we approach the end of our year, we’re taking time to celebrate our accomplishments—and to look ahead at the important work still to come. Through it all, the one constant has been YOU, our members, whose dedication and commitment make everything we do possible.

Before we look back, I encourage you to register for our Annual Meeting (see details below). As a capstone to our year, we’re excited to welcome an esteemed speaker, Dr. Susan MacManus, who will share her insights on the latest trends in Florida politics and elections at our May 16 meeting.

Members will also vote on a new slate of board members. You may have seen these candidates featured in the April Voter, along with highlights of the meaningful work our action teams have accomplished throughout the year.

And what a year it has been. Our Voter Services Team achieved an extraordinary milestone by registering and preregistering 1,106 students in Volusia County schools in partnership with the Volusia County Supervisor of Elections Office. Our Speaker’s Bureau reached voters across the community with multiple presentations of Separating Fact from Opinion, helping people better understand how to evaluate the information they find online. In addition, the League has partnered with voter protection organizations to educate voters about new laws coming out of the Florida Legislature. We have also continued pushing back against what we believe to be unnecessary, costly, and unconstitutional mid-decade redistricting, beginning with our participation at the first committee hearing in December.

As we enter a new year, much important work lies ahead—especially as we prepare for the midterm elections. On August 8, we will host a Volusia County School Board Candidates Forum with additional details coming soon.

Throughout the election season, we will remain focused on ensuring voters understand what’s on their ballots and empowering our members to share accurate, trusted information throughout Volusia County.

Everything we do is made possible by you—our members. Thank you for your passion, your advocacy, and your continued support of the League’s mission.

Please complete and submit the survey by May 10th to help us plan next year's programs

Important Update About Driver’s License Numbers & Voter Registration

Beginning with renewals in August 2024, driver’s license numbers are being updated. When you renew your license, you should request that the DMV also update your voter registration with your new license number.

If your renewal was completed without updating your voter record, you will need to contact your local Supervisor of Elections office to update your voter registration manually. Keeping your information current helps avoid delays or issues when voting.
