Dear Clients, Families and Team Members:

Today, we had a resident in the East Campus test positive. All other residents in the East Campus were also tested and had negative results.

What does this mean?

Do to the exposure of this resident to their peers, activities and communal dining has been paused in the East Campus for 14 days. We will repeat resident testing at the East Campus on Friday AM and Tuesday, December 1st to obtain knowledge whether the virus spread to other residents. The isolating to apartments helps with this scenario.

Additional infection control practices have increased.

Routine staff testing (minimum 1x/week), was ironically initiated today. All staff currently tested negative in this testing. Great news! :-)

Essential Caregivers at the East Campus are DISCOURAGED at this time. Just because clients tested negative today does not mean that we are in the clear (thus, are repeat test dates listed above). Visiting at this time places you (the visitor) at risk and it is imperative that you know that.

To ease the amount of emails in everyone’s inbox, we are going to convert our announcements of staff and resident positive cases in a weekly update. If your loved one tests positive for COVID-19 however, we will reach out to you personally.

  • West Campus Active # of Residents COVID+ as of today: 0 active cases
  • East Campus Active # of Residents COVID+ as of today: 1 active cases
  • South Campus Active # of Residents COVID+ as of today: 0 active cases
  • Staff Active # COVID+ as of today: 1 active cases

Please know that we are taking all actions we can to prevent the risk of further transmission of COVID-19. We are screening staff before their shift, creating isolation areas, wearing PPE, all staff wearing masks when in the facility, on-going education, cleaning and disinfecting frequently, limiting visitation, utilizing telehealth, etc.

If you have any general questions, please contact one of our nurses.

Your support and trust in our care means the world to us. Your loved ones are the reason we are fighting our hardest to keep COVID out of Serenity. We love them very much.

Sincerely,
Tim & Elaine Anderson
