Remembrance for Former Mayor Sam Tenuto
Former Village of Bloomingdale Mayor, Sam Tenuto passed away in May at his home in Arizona. Prior to being elected Village President, Sam Tenuto served as a Village Trustee. He served as Bloomingdale’s Mayor from 1979 until 1992 when he was appointed to the DuPage County Board. During that time, he oversaw the Village's progress and worked to ensure the highest success. His main objective was always to mold Bloomingdale into a town that could boast a superior quality of life.

This Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 10 am the family of Sam Tenuto would like to invite the community to gather with them at the gazebo at Fairfield Way and Bloomingdale Rd, for a small informal remembrance, open to the public, providing an opportunity to residents and friends who would like to share a memory, pay respects and gather in Sam Tenuto’s honor. Family will remain at the gazebo until 11 am and a guest book will be left until 2 PM, for Bloomingdale friends and residents to sign.

On behalf of Mayor Franco, the Village Board and employees of the Village, we offer condolences to his family.

Sam Tenuto was passionate about supporting Marklund Children’s Home, if you would like to contribute to his memory, please consider donating to Marklund: online at marklund.org/get-involved-2/make-a-donation/ or contact Taylor Egan, Annual Fund Manager, at (630) 397.5482 or [email protected].
