April 16, 2024

So, you picked a room for the 2024-2025 academic year...

now what?

First, congratulations on selecting your room assignment for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year! We are excited that you are continuing to live with us next year!

PLEASE READ the important information post-room selection:

PENDING ACTION ITEMS & RAFFLE PRIZES:

This is a friendly reminder (if you haven’t done this yet) to please log back into your housing application through the StarRez portal in order to select your required meal plan and sign the Housing License Agreement. Once those action items have been completed, you have officially confirmed your 2024-2025 room assignment and will be part of a raffle to win either one 2024-2025 parking permit OR one 2024-2025 reserved parking spot on campus. Students select their required meal plan and sign the Housing License Agreement by Wednesday, April 17 at 4:30 PM to be entered into the raffle.

***We only have one of each raffle prize, thanks to our Campus Safety department***

MEAL PLAN INFORMATION:

For specific meal plan information, please click here. The deadline to change your meal plan, once selected, is Wednesday, September 4th, 2024. *Please know you can increase your meal plan at any time*

Campus Fuel Information:

Please be reminded that your meal plan swipes are eligible for the Campus Fuel feature where the swipe can be converted to items from the Coffee Shop (for a fixed amount, between meal times).

ROOMMATES/SUITEMATES:

You will be able to log back into your housing portal anytime throughout the remainder of the semester and through the summer to see if there are any changes to your immediate roommate and/or suite mates.

ROOM CHANGE REQUESTS:

Please be reminded that although we are able to accommodate all students to live on campus, we cannot guarantee preferences due to limited stock of various housing types.

That being said, if you are interested in an accommodation different from what you selected, please complete and submit the Room Change Request form via StarRez portal that will be managed throughout the summer. Please see below for notes about submitted requests:

  • We will not make outreach for room changes until the summer as we will be busy for the remainder of the semester with summer housing and end of the year move-out.
  • It is not a guarantee that your specific preference will become available and therefore offered to you. But we try our best to make offers once a vacancy that may fit your preferences become available.
  • Offers are made via email and expire within 48 hours, so please check your SMC-email regularly.

We need your input!

FOR GRADUATING SENIORS

CULTURAL GRADUATE CELEBRATIONS - APPLY HERE

They also honor the importance of overcoming barriers within higher education and affirm the paths leading to academic success.

**Please note: These are celebrations and not official graduation ceremonies.**

The Intercultural Center will also be tabling at the Grad Fair on March 28th, and will be able to answer any questions you might have about Cultural Graduate Celebrations. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

A space and time for students of color to connect, create community, and share their This event is meant to create a space for students of color at Saint Mary's College of California to come and create community, connect, and share their stories and experiences as students of color on a Predominantly White Campus.

Beyond Assimilation - April 30 - 5:30-6:30PM

First the worst second the best? Being a first generation student in college can feel difficult enough when navigating the unknown, but what happens when also having to navigate the pressure to fit in? In this collective hour, first gen students will have the opportunity to discuss impacts of such pressure within our college campus. Together we will create a brave space where we can share our direct and indirect experiences.

Locker Room Talk - May 2 - 5:30-6:30PM

Locker Room Talk is an affinity space for all current and former (student)-athletes to come reflect on our individual and collective sporting experiences with respect to mental health and identity formation. Throughout the semester, we will be reflecting on our individual and collective experiences with the multiple, and sometimes competing, expectations of sport. This Collective Hour is a confidential space where all are invited to take ownership of their voices and build community.
