Housing Selection Starts Tomorrow!!

Wednesday, April 10th - Friday, April 12th, 2024 | Madigan Gym

Important Reminders

Group Coordination: Please make sure all members of your group are actively engaged and informed about the housing selection process. Communication is key to ensure that everyone is on the same page regarding preferences, priorities, and timing. Please make sure to refer back to the email you received on April 5, 2024 regarding which residence halls your group is eligible to select.

Medical Requirements to Live On Campus: All students living on campus must complete the College's Immunization/Vaccination & tuberculosis (TB) Screening Requirements. In order to participate in Room Selection in April, everyone in the group must have submitted all necessary forms and documentation. If one of your group members does not complete the requirements the group leader will not be able to assign them. Students who have not completed this requirement have been receiving daily communication from the housing office via email.

Backup Options: While you may have preferences for specific housing options, it is wise to have backup choices in case your first preferences are not available. Discuss potential backup options with your group members beforehand to streamline the selection process.

Selection Time Slot: All group members should have received the same time slot. During that time slot the group leader will go in person to Madigan Gym to participate in the in-person housing selection. It is crucial to be punctual and ready to make your selection, we ask that students arrive 10 minutes prior to their assigned time to allow time for check in.

Meal Plan & Housing License: After the group leader has assigned everyone in their group, the rest of the group members are responsible for logging back into their housing portal. They should select a meal plan if applicable and sign the housing license agreement. Please ensure that these steps are completed promptly to finalize your housing arrangements. The group leader will pick their own meal plan and sign the housing license at the in person room selection.

Classification: If a member of your group is a rising sophomore, but everyone else is a junior, you would not be able to select a townhouse. Only Juniors and Seniors can live in the Townhouses.

FOR GRADUATING SENIORS

CULTURAL GRADUATE CELEBRATIONS - APPLY HERE

Application is OPEN NOW (March 18) and closes April 22

For many historically underrepresented and traditionally marginalized students, graduating from college signifies success not only for themselves but also for their family and friends.

The IC recognizes the importance of this milestone with intimate ceremonies. These celebrations offer Saint Mary's students the opportunity to thank the people who helped them on their journey publicly. They also honor the importance of overcoming barriers within higher education and affirm the paths leading to academic success.

**Please note: These are celebrations and not official graduation ceremonies.**

The Intercultural Center will also be tabling at the Grad Fair on March 28th, and will be able to answer any questions you might have about Cultural Graduate Celebrations. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

A space and time for students of color to connect, create community, and share their This event is meant to create a space for students of color at Saint Mary's College of California to come and create community, connect, and share their stories and experiences as students of color on a Predominantly White Campus.

Beyond Assimilation - March 26 & April 30 - 5:30-6:30PM

First the worst second the best? Being a first generation student in college can feel difficult enough when navigating the unknown, but what happens when also having to navigate the pressure to fit in? In this collective hour, first gen students will have the opportunity to discuss impacts of such pressure within our college campus. Together we will create a brave space where we can share our direct and indirect experiences.

Locker Room Talk - April 9 & May 2 - 5:30-6:30PM

Locker Room Talk is an affinity space for all current and former (student)-athletes to come reflect on our individual and collective sporting experiences with respect to mental health and identity formation. Throughout the semester, we will be reflecting on our individual and collective experiences with the multiple, and sometimes competing, expectations of sport. This Collective Hour is a confidential space where all are invited to take ownership of their voices and build community.
