This is a message for all Solid Waste Customers: Effective July 1, 2025, the City of Camarillo will transfer billing and customer services for residential solid waste to E.J. Harrison (EJH). This change is designed to improve customer services, expand billing options, and provide greater payment flexibility for customers who receive trash/recycling/organics services.
EJH currently provides solid waste services for both commercial and residential customers in Camarillo. While EJH handles billing for commercial customers, the City has been managing the billing process for residential accounts.
This transition affects billing only—there will be no changes to current services and pickup schedules. Once the changeover is complete, residents will benefit from a more direct and efficient customer experience.
Billing Cycle Changes and Transition Details:
Starting in July, solid waste charges will no longer be included with your City water and/or sewer bill. EJH will bill separately for trash and recycling services. Water and sewer services will continue to be billed by the City. For residents who get only solid waste service, billing and account management will now be handled directly by EJH.
During this transition, the solid waste billing cycle will change from billing in arrears (for past services) to billing in advance (for future services). Advance billing is how EJH bills its other customers.
This billing cycle change means customers will initially receive bills from both the City and EJH (see chart and explanation below). This is a one-time overlap to help align with EJH’s billing schedule.
