State Visit

The President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, accompanied by Frau Elke Büdenbender, has accepted an invitation from His Majesty The King to pay a state visit to the United Kingdom from Wednesday 3 December to Friday 5 December 2025.

To support this state visit, the Royal Borough is working with Thames Valley Police, the Crown Estate and other key partners, to minimise disruption to those that live and work in, or plan to visit Windsor. Stay up to date by visiting our dedicated webpage below which contains up to date information on road closures, parking updates and security information.

New council report urges action on alcohol harm in the Royal Borough

The Annual Director of Public Health Report shines a spotlight on the hidden harms of alcohol and how health partners, the voluntary sector, and communities can work together to tackle this growing challenge.

Alcohol consumption is rising across the borough in line with national levels causing increases in serious health conditions as well as wider social issues such as domestic violence and costs to policing and social care.

The report also sets out recommendations for how residents can better understand and manage their own drinking behaviour or access support.

Next phase of The Granges redevelopment gets underway

Last week we joined partners breaking ground on the second phase of The Granges redevelopment at Sawyers Close in Windsor.

Once complete, it will provide more than 400 affordable homes and social housing for the local community. The first 61 homes are already underway, and the second phase will develop a further 121 homes by 2028.
