Living classroom and nature garden opens in Maidenhead

Maidenhead’s Norfolk Park community is now home to a vibrant new nature garden thanks to Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and local Climate Partnership funding.

St Luke’s Community Nature Garden was opened yesterday by the Royal Borough’s Deputy Mayor, Cllr Siân Martin, along with pupils from St Luke’s CofE Primary School. Built using only sustainable materials, the garden includes pebble seating, a log bridge, and two bug hotels.

Funded by an external public health grant, it has been designed to create a welcoming and relaxing space for residents to enjoy and for local school children to use as an interactive green classroom.

Have your say on plans for a healthier borough

Help shape plans to create a healthier borough by sharing your feedback on the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead’s new Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy.

The ten-year strategy is a road map setting out how we plan to support healthier living for all residents as well as where borough communities need extra support.

As the strategy is due to come into effect early next year, a short and easy online consultation about it runs until Sunday 7 December. There are also copies of the draft strategy in borough libraries with staff on hand if you need help completing the consultation.
