COVID-19 cases

Cases in the Borough are disproportionately centred on people aged between 18 to 34 years, but we all have to play our part.

You may not experience the worst of symptoms yourself but you may pass it on to loved ones who do.

Please play your part in stopping the spread and help keep everyone safe - keep your distance, wash your hands, wear a face covering. If you have any symptoms, stay at home and get a test immediately. If you’ve been abroad to a country that’s not on the exemption list, you need to self-isolate for 14 days.

To protect yourself and others, you must:
  • wash your hands regularly and for at least 20 seconds
  • wear a face covering over your nose and mouth in enclosed spaces
  • stay at least a metre away from people not in your household
  • if you feel unwell, get a test immediately
  • if you have travelled abroad to a country that’s not on the exemption list, you need to self-isolate for 14 days. Check travel advice here.

New Royal Borough website

Our current website, customer engagement platform and forms have been moved to a new provider and we need users to be aware of the changes.

The website https://www3.rbwm.gov.uk/ is now obsolete and all webpage links to the site will be broken. This will include any bookmarks or favourite links that you have. You may also come across broken links within search engines which take you to the old site, it takes some time for search engines to recognise the pages and links on a new website.

Please update any bookmarks or favourite links to https://www.rbwm.gov.uk/. Here is the 'report it' link.
Waste update

From Monday 7 September all restrictions on when you can visit Stafferton Way Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) will be lifted meaning that you can visit on any day.

Royal Borough residents can also use Chalvey HWRC again from Monday 7 September. Details on using this site can be found here.

Climate webinar for businesses

Businesses are invited to our webinar on the Green Recovery: Tackling climate change in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead taking place on Wednesday 9 September 1-2pm.

We have just released our draft climate and environment strategy which details our ambition for the Borough to be net zero by 2050. It’s now open for public consultation to offer businesses, residents and other stakeholders in the Borough the opportunity to have a say.

Hear from local businesses who are leading the way. Tackling climate change involves everyone – it will take the combined efforts of business, industry, residents and community groups to make this a reality so this is also an opportunity to reflect on the part your business can play. The Crown Estate and Ascot Racecourse will be inspiring action detailing the steps they have taken and the plan they have to ensure sustainability and climate change mitigation are at the heart of what they do.

If your business would like to register please email climatechange.consultation@rbwm.gov.uk

Residents are invited to feed back on the consultation and find out more here.
Local Healthwatch Service provider selected

A joint project by the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, Bracknell Forest Council and Slough Council to commission a single Local Healthwatch Service across East Berkshire has concluded.

Help & Care has been awarded the contract to provide this service across the three boroughs, which will see the authorities working together, to ensure valuable health and social care information is shared to improve the services available to local residents.

Kickstart scheme launched

The Kickstart Scheme is a £2 billion fund to create hundreds of thousands of high quality 6-month work placements aimed at those aged 16 to 24 who are on Universal Credit and are deemed to be at risk of long term unemployment.

Any size and type of organisation that employs people who can offer young people, claiming Universal Credit, a six-month work placement will be paid for by government. Funding will be available following a successful application process. Applications must be for a minimum of 30 job placements. Further information is available through a Guide for Employers.

To help smaller businesses and employers offering fewer than 30 placements, there will be a way to bid via an intermediary or representative of a group of employers. These intermediaries can then bid on behalf of groups of employers. You can find out how this will work here Guidance for representatives of employers.

if you are willing to participate in the scheme as an employer or as an intermediary representing a group of employers, please email Bracknell, Maidenhead & Slough Jobcentres
