Get moving at the Desborough Suite with Leisure Focus!

We're excited to announce the launch of pay-as-you-go health, wellbeing and fitness classes in our Desborough Suite, in partnership with Leisure Focus.

Having been out of use for several years, after hosting the Covid-19 Community Vaccination Centre, the venue, based at Maidenhead Town Hall, will soon throw open its doors to the community once again, with an initial programme of classes including general fitness and mother and baby sessions starting on Monday 16 June.

The sessions, which will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, will be hosted by Leisure Focus’ well-loved fitness practitioners. Activity will expand in the coming months, to offer a more enhanced fitness programme and the opportunity for greater daytime community use.

Volunteers Week 2025

With lots of benefits for you and your community, there are many different ways to get involved. For the latest volunteering opportunities, visit the Community Spotlight

Flying the flag for Pride month

You may have seen that we're flying the flag at Maidenhead Town Hall to mark Pride month, which is an opportunity to celebrate the diversity of our community and support for a more inclusive society.

The flag will be on display for two weeks, when it will be replaced by the Armed Forces flag ahead of Armed Forces Week.

Don't miss your chance to share your views in our assistive technology survey

Our survey on how residents use assistive technology, as part of a larger project supporting unpaid carers closes on Monday 9 June

This includes technology products or systems that help people with disabilities, limited mobility or other impairments to carry out tasks that might otherwise be too difficult, for example; remote monitoring gadgets, video consultations with doctors, and smart tools that help people manage their health at home.

Apply now for the Big Climate Pot

The Climate Partnership has extended the deadline for applications to the Big Climate Pot, which supports a single large project that contributes to sustainability and climate action within the Royal Borough.

Community groups, educational institutions and business in the borough are now encouraged to apply by 30 June 2025.

The partnership, funded by the council and governed by local businesses and community groups, are seeking proposals for a large project that fosters environmental resilience and community well-being and supports our Environment and Climate Change Strategy. The £25,000 in project funding comes from the Carbon Offset Fund, made up of developer contributions.
