Who should attend:
Middle school & high school social workers, counselors, and educators comfortable with mental health group facilitation.
The Anxiety Group Training provides a run-through of an 8-10 week Anxiety Group for middle school and high school students. The purpose of the group is for students to develop anxiety management skills, build peer support, as well as provide direct services for those who have identified needs in this area.
This group includes skill building in the areas of emotion management, assertiveness, mindfulness, and problem solving. The lessons are designed to assist students in developing skills that will help them cope with stressors and
teen life. Topics will include: identifying and dealing with difficult emotions, developing coping strategies, identifying healthy support systems, and responsible decision making.
