Resolve to Be More Fit in 2021

As we move into the new year, we are kicking off a 12-week competition called Worldwide Wellness. During this challenge, participants will be logging steps or fitness activity as well as earning points for being money smart and using their strengths.
Benefits eligible CWRU faculty and staff are invited to join a team OR go it alone. Previous completion results show that those on a team are significantly more likely to meet the goal of exercising at least 30 minutes 5 times a week.
Learn more when you register for the program which kicks off on January 18.
As always we will have great prizes for a random draw of those who complete the program as well as team prizes for our top three teams.
Kick off the new year with this virtual fitness trip around the world!

What we Learned from Our Survey of Male Participants

In October and November, the Wellness Team surveyed the CWRU male population and followed up with a series of 3 focus groups. Male participation in our multi-week programming has been under 15% since program inception and we wanted to learn how to engage more of you.
Here are some takeaways:
  • Offer annual Focus Groups to foster Community
  • Reference well-respected and academically focused research with our programming offerings
  • Create a "Men's Health" Wellness Series
  • Target marketing directly toward male participants
  • Encourage more participation from all campus leaders, including men in faculty and administrative leadership positions

Keep Vigilant with Social Distancing and Mask Wearing
Like all of us, the Wellness Team is excited that a Covid-19 vaccine is being offered to more and more Americans, but we want to remind you that mask wearing and social distancing is very important as we enter 2021. Let's keep this virus at bay! We invite you to see this as an act of kindness for others!
