An Update from the Love INC Board

The Love INC of ECC board has spent the summer actively recruiting for the Executive Director position.  Dave Ruegg, Vice Chair, is the process owner.  Pastors, employees, and volunteer representatives have been selected to participate in the interview process of the final top three candidates.  To date, there are approximately 30 resumes received.  We expect the final round of interviews to be concluded by the end of September.

Applications are being accepted for the Communications Coordinator/Support Staff position, (24 hour per week). The position will focus on the day-to-day operations and is complementary to the Resource and Training Coordinator. I nquires and resumes may be sent to

Furnishare has successfully moved into their new location at 7890 Market Boulevard in Chanhassen, next to Cub Foods.  Heartfelt thanks to the many volunteers who offered their time and treasure to make this move possible.  The operation is running smoothly,  now open four days a week.  Feedback has been very positive.  Please stop by and check it out. We are working to set up a Grand Opening in the next month or so.  We will invite the community and plan for a blessing ceremony.

The Annual Gala has been moved from October, 2016,  to February, Valentine's Day week, 2017.  The Board has elected to move the Gala back to the time of year that was used in the past.  It is our hope that this time of the year will alleviate the conflict with other local Galas typically held in the Fall.

The Fundraising Committee is meeting regularly to discuss and plan a Year-End Drive, reaching out especially to local business leaders for support.  The Board has submitted a funding application of $10,000 to the philanthropic team at Henkel Corporation in Chanhassen.

Alicia Kaiser, Tim Helmeke and Russ St John participated in the Love INC National Convention in Gurnee, IL September 12-14.  This was an excellent opportunity to meet other Love INC peers from across the country, learn best practices, and receive data from the leaders at National.

Love INC is participating with a working group to discuss and develop a ministry to address affordable/transitional housing for individuals and families in Carver and Scott Counties.  This group is being led by Corey Magstadt of Launch Ministries.  Approximately 10 individuals from government, faith communities, and interested citizens are participating.  Mission statements and work groups are being defined. One objective is to define Love INC's role in addressing this  important issue.

A National Affiliate

  • NATIONAL: Love In the Name of Christ is a nationwide movement carried out by more than 130 affiliates, networking nearly 9,000 Christian churches, to serve their neighbors in need.  Mobilizing almost 300,000 Christian volunteers and working with nearly 6,000 community-based organizations, hundreds of thousands of people in need find help and hope through Love INC.

  • AFFILIATES: Every affiliate has a formal agreement with Love INC National to operate as an affiliate.

  • LOCAL CHURCHES: Local affiliates are the essence of Love INC.  An affiliate, in its most basic form, is a partnership of local Christian churches working in a coordinated way to address and respond to the needs of their neighbors.  This collaboration is practical, productive, transformative, and, significantly, it manifests Christ’s love in the affiliate’s community.  Every affiliate has a formal agreement with Love INC National to operate as an affiliate.
  • WHAT WE BELIEVE:  The Apostles Creed is our Statement of Faith to identify unity in Christ.

  • THE LOVE INC LOGOThis heart represents why we are different.  The heart represents the love of God for all.  Its unfinished edges remind us of Love INC’s grassroots, relational approach to ministry that engenders transformation in us and the people we serve.  The Cross represents the foundation of the Christian Church and the unifying force of the Love INC Movement; the heartbeat of God’s love for us.  The Cross is our hope for both the present and the future.  The colors remind us of God’s redemptive and transforming love.  Purple is a color symbolic of redemption.  Red represents the blood of Jesus and the love of Christ – the supreme sacrifice He made for all of us.  The entire Love INC image signifies the love we have for God, His Church, each other, and people in need. This love identifies us, determines how we serve others, and makes us who we are.
