What's Happening



  • *NEW* Next month, Seattle will welcome tens of thousands of visitors for one of the biggest annual sporting events in the country: the 2023 Major League Baseball (MLB) All-Star Game. This email provides an update on the event's attendance levels and economic impacts, schedule, information on how to prepare your business for All-Star Week, and resources available for the Pioneer Square neighborhood.


  • *NEW* The 2023 MLB All-Star Game and related activities are coming to T-Mobile Park and Lumen Field starting on Friday, July 7 through Tuesday, July 11. Lumen Field will be the site for Capital One Play Ball Park, a four-day indoor/outdoor fan experience blending together baseball, softball, music, food, the latest in VR technology, shopping, fashion, MLB All-Stars, baseball legends, former Olympians and more. 75,000 plus guests are expected to attend over the four-day period.   • *NEW* It's summer in Pioneer Square! The long, warm days bring changes and excitement to the neighborhood with more and more office workers returning to the district, alongside a busy calendar of events at Lumen Field and T-Mobile Park. Click here for information on how your business can capture the most foot traffic and economic activity this summer.


  • *NEW* The Alliance also hosted a technical assistance workshop to help businesses prepare for the upcoming events season. The webinar featured an overview of major events coming to Pioneer Square this summer, provided tips on preparing your business, and what you can do to ensure your business benefits. Partner Efforts

  • *NEW* In an effort to support emerging leaders and amplify youth perspectives in the field of preservation and community building, Washington Trust for Historic Preservation is proud to offer the PreserveWA Fellowship. The Fellowship supports first-time attendance at RevitalizeWA by students and young professionals with interest in gaining professional exposure to the fields of historic preservation and downtown revitalization.   • *NEW* Visit Seattle recently announced their 2023 Official Visitors' Guide (OVG), which is the ultimate resource to incoming visitors, providing travel inspiration and resources for their next Seattle adventure. Please contact [email protected] to request copies for your business.


  • *NEW* Seattle Office of Arts & Culture (ARTS) in partnership with Seattle City Light (SCL) is seeking an artist to develop site-specific artwork designs and artistic design elements for existing and new Electric Vehicle (EV) charging parking lots and stand-alone EV charging terminals throughout the City of Seattle. The artist will receive a $15,000 design and coordination contract. Click here for eligibility and application details.

  • *NEW* The Alliance is partnering with the Pioneer Square Residents’ Council and the Seattle Police Department (SPD) to host a community event this Friday, June 30 at Luigi's Italian Eatery. You are invited to drop in between 12-1p and connect with other members of our neighborhood and learn more about how SPD supports Pioneer Square. No need to RSVP- just drop in! Learn more here.

  • The Alliance offers free virtual/in person de-scalation trainings led by the Metropolitan Improvement District (MID) and the Seattle Police Department (SPD). The MID/SPD de-escalation training is going to be in-depth training program that teaches you how to recognize, reduce and manage aggressive behavior.   • Each Friday, we give neighborhood businesses and organizations the opportunity to share a series of photo and video content to the Alliance for Pioneer Square’s social media channels via stories, feed posts and live video updates, for the entire day.   • The Pioneer Square Business Owners & Managers Facebook group is an opportunity for business owners and retailers to participate in an online forum and share resources, support and stories.
