What's Happening

  • *NEW* Join us and a host of neighborhood volunteers on the morning of Saturday, May 20th to help give the neighborhood a little extra TLC at the Annual Pioneer Square Spring Clean on Saturday, May 20th from 9 to 12p. Register Here. This year's Spring Clean is in coordination with the City's second annual One Seattle Day of Service. Learn more here.
  • *NEW* On April 25, King County residents will cast ballots on the King County Care Centers levy. This $1.25 billion levy will fund five new behavioral health crisis care centers (CCCs) within the county. Importantly, the levy also supports recruitment and retention of community behavioral health workers and preserves and restores the loss of residential treatment beds in the county. Learn more here.
  • *NEW* On-street parking rates in Seattle have increased as officials aim to curb demand and open up more parking spaces across the city. In Pioneer Square, hourly parking located at the core will cost $.50 in the morning and $3 in the afternoon. Parking in the edge of the neighborhood will cost $1 in the morning and $2 in the afternoon. Parking in the evening will remain free. View all city rates here.

Worker and Business Resources

  • *NEW* The state's Department of Commerce Washington Hospitality Grants Program launched this month on March 14, 2023. This program offers one-time grants to eligible restaurants, hotels, motels and other qualifying hospitality businesses that have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 public health emergency or its negative economic impacts. Partner Efforts

  • *NEW* The Port of Seattle invites you to an update on April 6 from 10 to 11:15a on the Pacific Northwest to Alaska Green Corridor project. The project is a collaboration of ports, industry, governments, and non-governmental organizations working to explore the feasibility of decarbonizing the shipping routes between Alaska, British Columbia, and Washington, with an initial focus on cruise-ship operations.   • *NEW* Join Seattle Restored for the ultimate celebration of community, culture, and creativity at the Seattle Restored Spring Market & Art Exhibit on April 6th from 5pm to 9pm at 220 2nd Ave S! The event will feature a fantastic selection of products and art, as well as an array of delicious food from Garzón Latinx Street Food, making it a feast for both your eyes and taste buds. And what better way to explore Seattle's most historic neighborhood, Pioneer Square, than during the First Thursday Art Walk? Whether you are looking for a one-of-a-kind gift or simply want to soak up the atmosphere, they have something for everyone. Let's celebrate!

Other Neighborhood Updates

  • *NEW* On Wednesday, April 12th the Alliance will host a variety of representatives from the City, County, and nonprofit organizations for a drop-in open house from 12-6p at 210 Studio (210 S Washington St.) during which community members can share their concerns and ideas about public safety in our neighborhood. Your input is important and will be key in developing strategies regarding street civility and public safety. RSVP here to attend.


  • The Pioneer Square BIA is excited to open the application period for the 2023 Inspiration Fund. This year, the BIA is matching volunteer hours and/or funding up to $10,000, for community members to implement projects and programs making a positive impact in the Pioneer Square neighborhood. Applicants must submit a completed Application Form with required documentation (if applicable) by email to info@pioneersquare.org no later than March 31, 2023 at midnight. Visit our website for grant application, details and eligibility.

  • The Alliance offers free virtual/in person de-scalation trainings led by the Metropolitan Improvement District (MID) and the Seattle Police Department (SPD). The MID/SPD de-escalation training is going to be in-depth training program that teaches you how to recognize, reduce and manage aggressive behavior. Please contact chris@pioneersquare.org to schedule a training for your business.

  • Each Friday, we give neighborhood businesses and organizations the opportunity to share a series of photo and video content to the Alliance for Pioneer Square’s social media channels via stories, feed posts and live video updates, for the entire day.   • The Pioneer Square Business Owners & Managers Facebook group is an opportunity for business owners and retailers to participate in an online forum and share resources, support and stories.
