What's Happening

  • *NEW* The Pioneer Square BIA is excited to announce the recipients of the 2023 Inspiration Fund! This year, the BIA is matching volunteer hours and/or funding up to $17,500 for community members to implement projects and programs making a positive impact in the Pioneer Square neighborhood. With the increase in financial support, this year the BIA is granting matching funds to support a total of four projects and you can learn more about them here.
  • *NEW* The 34th Legislative District Democrats are hosting candidate forums for all King County Council District 8 and Seattle City Council District 1 candidates. This event is open to the general public and is an opportunity for candidates to open up a dialogue about the concerns of the community.

  • ICYMI: Join us and a host of neighborhood volunteers on the morning of Saturday, May 20th to help give the neighborhood a little extra TLC at the Annual Pioneer Square Spring Clean on Saturday, May 20th from 9 to 12p. Register Here. This year's Spring Clean is in coordination with the City's second annual One Seattle Day of Service. Learn more here.

Worker and Business Resources

  • *NEW* The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce has released its third installment of The Index, a research project measuring quality of life over time by asking registered Seattle voters about the region’s most-pressing issues, including homelessness, public safety, affordability, and downtown Seattle’s recovery.   • *NEW* With the Sounders FC, OL Reign, and Mariners seasons underway, May will see plenty of foot traffic coming and going from the south end of the district. To better inform business operations on game and event days, follow this link to the Lumen Field and Event CenterWAMU Theater, and T-Mobile Park event calendar.

Partner Efforts

  • *NEW* Flatstick Pub strongly believes in helping others and building a stronger community inside and out. Join us every Sunday this month at the Pioneer Square location for Flatstick's Sunday Fundraise where a portion of all games sold will be donated to the Alliance for Pioneer Square in support of our programs. Alliance staff members will also be available to share more details about our work in the neighborhood. Have fun and help make a difference each Sunday by simply playing mini-golf!   • *NEW* The Washington Trust for Historic Preservation is pleased to announce that the Seattle Historic Waterfront Grants program is accepting applications! This one-time grant opportunity will support either seismic retrofit planning or façade improvements for historic buildings along Seattle’s waterfront. Grants for building rehabilitation projects will be awarded up to $50,000 with a 50% match requirement. Other Neighborhood Updates


  • *NEW* The Alliance is hosting the first in a series of happy hours this year on Tuesday, June 20 form 4 – 6pm at Burbs Burgers Pioneer Square, to connect administrative, facilities, human resources, and operations professional from around the neighborhood. We also hope to build relationships with these folks so that the Alliance’s resources are adequately being shared to those working in offices in Pioneer Square.   • *NEW* Undead Labs, a game studio within the Microsoft umbrella located in Pioneer Square, is hosting a fundraiser at their studio to raise funds for the ACLU's drag defense fund, specifically helping in their fight against Anti-Trans and Anti-Drag legislation. Undead Labs is asking Pioneer Square businesses consider supporting their event by donating an item or basket for our silent auction. Businesses that contribute items will be listed as sponsors in our event materials, in addition to the auction display and written description. If you would like to donate to the fundraiser, (services, gift baskets, gift cards, crafted goods, wine, etc.) please reach out to Kip Brookbank for more details.


  • ICYMI: The Alliance for Pioneer Square is asking business owners/managers to fill out our annual crime and safety survey. The goal of the survey is to get an accurate understanding about the impacts of crime and the effects of safety concerns of Pioneer Square businesses over the past year. The 2023 Annual Pioneer Square Crime and Safety survey will close on May 31st, 2023. Take the survey here.

  • The Alliance offers free virtual/in person de-scalation trainings led by the Metropolitan Improvement District (MID) and the Seattle Police Department (SPD). The MID/SPD de-escalation training is going to be in-depth training program that teaches you how to recognize, reduce and manage aggressive behavior.   • The Pioneer Square Business Owners & Managers Facebook group is an opportunity for business owners and retailers to participate in an online forum and share resources, support and stories.
